I even went though the coding supplied with the harness & made sure that was all the same.

The retrofit harness you bought is fitted with a connector to plug directly into the REM but you have spliced onto the existing indicator cable going to the outer light.

Remove all coding and then just change the bulb type to LED - job done

Okay I removed all coding & I got the messages rear fog light & reverse light failure. I then coded the bulbs to LED, still not working. But it no longer says those error messages.

I followed this guide and like you was sent short cables that wouldn't reach the F36 REM.

If you have no inner lights at all I would say the harness is faulty. I'd expect some of the lights still to work though if the harness was incorrectly wired.

I didn't connect the indicator wires directly into the REM, instead I posi tapped onto the existing outer indicator wires using connectors from amazon.

Left indicator: black & white striped wire running into the far right plug on the REM module
Right indicator - grey & black striped wire running in the left plug on the REM module (not middle)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Connectors-...3323&psc=1

All I needed to code was all rear lamps to LED from Bulb. Very simple with the bimmercode app.

I'm unsure whether to buy an OEM harness or take it to somebody that knows more than I do.

Can anybody reccomend a specialist that could get this sorted for me?

I think 61126830782 is the part number for the OEM loom for the F36.

I never replaced that cable, I still have the pre LCI cable in my car.

I just bought this adapter harness so I could plug the inners in.

The instructions said to route the long white wires around to the REM & tap into certain pins but I did what Mick.86uk did from eirlier in this thread & I tapped into the same wires he tapped into, like this...

I have read in another thread that a guy who had the same adapter harness couldn't get it to work either, turned out he had a faulty harness adapter, he bought a new replacement LCI loom, coded & it worked.

I'm going to phone the dealers on Monday to price up an LCI loom as I think my adapter harness is no good. FortyThirtyFive was kind enough to message me back, he sent me pictures of his set up & looked at my pictures & also said that the harness must be at fault.

That cable on your carpet looks like it just replaced the wires that goes into the white middle plug of the REM?

My wires are tapped into wires on the left & right plug & I've seen another wired into there but I can't find out what wires to tap into.

I bought OEM harness so it replaced whole cable no tapping into

Problem with these aftermarket cables are most of times faulty and last thing you need is having faulty cable while you working on the car

Yes I would say get refund and order new one , I think I paid £100 or just over for it speak to Elliot at Harry Fairbairen dealership in Scotland, tell you you got his details from F30 forum then he will give you discount no point paying retail prices

Thanks for that Mick, that's where I've tapped into on mine, so if yours works & mine doesn't, the harness I have must be faulty.

Yours looks correct, not sure why you aren't getting any of the inner lights working on both sides?

Are the harness plugs pushed in all the way?

If both harness are faulty I would cut the indicator wires near to the adaptors and send them back for replacements and just rejoin the indicator wires to the new harness adaptors.

Yes I'm sure they are pushed in all the way, I even did them a second time using 2 new clips in case I did something wrong the first time. They look good quality clips, better than the skotchbloks things I've used in the past.

Sounds about right but it’s lot of work involved when you fit OEM harness , you will literally have to take full tailgate trims off and remove wire harness

I will try to find old pics and share later today mate

Cheers mate. I did remove a lot of the interior boot trim yesterday. The headliner had to come down a bit so I could route the white wires from the lights to the REM. Mick probably did the same on his so I'm no stranger to removing the trim now.

How far down does the headliner have to come down? I only needed to pull it down a bit so I could tuck the white wires under & thread through the rubber boots.

UKF30 When you ordered the OEM loom, did it replace & plug into where the white centre plug goes on the REM, leaving the black plugs on the left & right of the REM intact?

New loom in. No coding. The inners power up! Yes! No indicators though, so...

Re-coded everything to the T again from the coding provided by UKF30 (thanks again for that) as it was coding that made everything work properly.

Everything working perfect now = happy days!

Now I need to recoupe some money back for this crap ebay harness but overall I'm chuffed to bits now it all finally works.

Thanks to everyone who helped.
