I've just received this beautiful Hamilton PSR in the left, (homage to the first digital watch produced in 1970 by Pulsar) and worn by Roger Moore as 007 in the film Live and Let Die. It's a stunning bit of kit. Along side my SM in black with nato and recently acquired Tag F1.

Bremont arrived today , looks virtually new even though it is eight years old . On the way home i popped into Goldsmiths and picked an Aquaracer up for the wife as she commented on how much she liked the one our daughter recently purchased.

Daily driver is a Garmin Fenix 5x. For everything else, I have a Hamilton Jazzmaster.

I'm off to look at a Tag connected 2020 tomorrow, I love my Tag Link Automatic that I have worn as a daily for nearly 20 years but I bought a Garmin at the beginning of lockdown for running and have started to get used to the smart watch thing but it feels so cheap compared to the Tag so the 2020 may be the best of both worlds for a new daily.

Don’t know if they’ve changed much, but I tried them when they came out and they were massive, way too big for me. And that was next to a chunky 46mm Breitling that felt small at the side of it.

Be interested to see what you think. Are they upgradable?

Same as other smart watches, system upgrades but will be outdated in a few years this is the gen 3 Tag connected, one and two came out in 2015 and 2017.

The first ones had an offer to basically guarantee future value where you could trade towards another watch in the future, not necessarily another smart watch. It was to get people comfortable spending a lot on a smart watch that might end up obsolete. Doesn’t seem like they’re offering that any more.

I feel those Tag watches are in no mans land somewhat. Not classy enough to be a lifetime Tag keeper and too expensive to be a nice smart watch for a few years before the tech and battery is a little obsolete. ETTO of course. They they're not really that rugged too. Depends on your use case of course.

I've been on the Garmin Fenix route for about 3+ years now and never looking back. How else will I delight the family daily with exactly how much sleep, steps, calories, zzzzzz, zzzzzz

This is my concern. I would personally stick with the electronics companies for fitness tracker and have analog watches for their purpose.

Anyone after a Garmin Fenix 6 they're reduced to !360 on Amazon Prime day.

Lowest I've ever seen for them.

Should be with me mid-week as it is currently on its holidays in Geneva.

What your thoughts on Bremont? I do like some of their pieces but not sure about their longevity and movement. I have my eye also on a MBII.

Rafa Nadal wears a £1000,000 quid Richard Mille watch.

I can get they can be expensive things for genuine reasons but a million quid seems a stretch?

I hope they've sorted out the GMT adjustment. When I was watch shopping a few years ago (eventually bought my Panerai) I went to the Bremont store/boutique in Mayfair to look at a few of their pieces.

When I asked the manager to demonstrate the 'hour jump' function for the local displayed time he said that it didn't work that way - the crown had to be pulled out fully and the minutes hand wound around the dial until the local time hour hand was showing the desired time.

So, let's assume you're flying to the US West Coast - you had to wind the hands through -6 hours or + 18 hours (depending on whether you want to wind the mechanism in reverse), rather than just jumping the hour hand by 6 hours.

That made it a no-go for me.

Pleased with my purchase , it wears well and flys below the bling radar which is exactly what i was looking for. It is nice and light and as a consequence it feels nowhere near as solid as my Seamaster or Planet ocean more inline , build quality wise, with a the Tag F1 chrono.

Working in engineering it is not a daily , my Samsung Smart Watch is for that , i haven`t been wearing it much so cant really comment on the movement nor longevity but when i have had it on it does keep perfect time.

Was looking for a semi dress watch and contemplated an Aqua Terra / IWC pilot / Transocean but the Bremont was always in contention and the fact the one i bought was part of a limited run of 30 (TWG) makes it that little bit more special , to me anyway.

This watch thing is like a bloody addiction , next up may be a Panerai Luminor, once i get my head round their model range and numbers.

Interesting. Am considering a similar list and am struggling to choose

I own a Omega Planet Ocean already and have a Garmin Fenix 6 for a daily sport come bash watch. Want a new piece and so far got the list to:

Omega Aqua Terra
Oris Big Crown Chronograph
IWC Pilot Chronograph
Bremont MBII

IWC I dont believe are as prestige as they used to be. Oris seem great value. Omega needs no introduction, great 9300 movement on the AT.

Others to drool over would be Omega Grey side of the Moon (£££) or Zenith El Primero. Not sure I can justify them

When it came down with parting with the cash the AT was ruled out as there were two other Omegas in the box , i had actually pulled the trigger on the IWC Pilot but it was sold online before i had the chance to view it at the Glasgow Office , it was then i reverted back to the MB and the TWG appeared , so i did a bit of Googling and put a deposit on it before that got snapped up via the Watchfinder website.

Would i part with £4k + for a new Bremont , possibly not as i dont see them at that price point (yet) but as a second hand purchase in the mint condition it is in then it made more sense - to a Scotsman anyway.
