Help! With tire width!

I got some 405m wheel at my 340i
The measures are 8jx18 et34 i got a race on Saturday but im struggling with which would be the biggest tire size for these without rubbing!
Ive done research but pretty much everything its about 19' or 20' wheel size!
Anybody running 18'?

For an 8" wide wheel you probably don't want to put more than a 245/40-18 on them. The widest one of those you can get is either an NT01 or R-S4. I've run both on the track with no issues rubbing unless you set your caster above 8deg.

I've got the 400M wheels which are the same size and offset. Ive got 245/40-18 with no issues at all. That's typically considered the best handling square 18" size.

So it would be better to change to some 19's and wider wheels like 9.5 rear and 8.5 front?

im running stock adaptive suspension and try to go wider in the back as possible...

Thanks for replying guys! I dont understand much about all this wheel/tire measures!

No need to go to 19" wheels. You can just get wider 18" ones. I'd shoot for 9" wide if you can fit them (assuming square setup). I think with 9.5" you'd have to start doing some more creative things to get it to fit.

I ran a 255 and 245 on my 18x8 wheels and there was no issue with rubbing or anything.

I currently run a 18x9.5 with a 265 wheel and again, no issue with this setup but I am cambered in a bit and running spacers front and rear.

brigade24 Do you have 335ix or 335i.

I have 335iX and I am looking into running 18x9.5 with 265 square. But I was wondering if the front will not give me issues.

And I am also putting KW V3 coilovers. I will like to see some pictures too please.

335xi...i have been running a 265 wide on and ET 38 and now ET35 18x9.5 setup, zero issues with rubbing. you will need a small front spacer to fit that width of tire. rear is no problem, you can run a small spacer if you want but its not required for fitment.

im trying to post pics but it keeps giving me an error..i will try later.

Nice, but now what kind of tire are you running with the 10x9.5? I goal was to get 18x9.5 with 275 tires all around for track

my autox tires are Bridgestone RE71r (265 35 18) and my lapping tires are Nexen SUR4G (275 35 18). 265s will fit with a small spacer up front. 275s can be made to fit with a spacers up front and a fender roll.

How much room do you have with the 265/35/18 up front? I'm looking to fit 265/35/19 Re71r upfront, so a profile size larger than you.

Stock M-sport. But will be adding M3 zhp springs, so maybe 1/2" drop. I'm more concerned with hitting the fender liner on turns than camber issues.
