There aren't many original Focus RS's about. Yes it was an insurance write off but hardly a mechanical write off and they just trashed it. Glad they got it sorted in the end though.

Didn't Paddy hit the accelerator when he lost grip on the slippery spot? Also, Freddie's desire to hit 200 mph saw him accelerate past the braking zone, so he was willing to cut the margins short to achieve his ego trip. Luckily he got away with it this time, but it still shows they don't really have a lot of sympathy for other people's cars. Chris excepted, but at least he knows how to drive. Nice to see the Focus RS put back in shape, but it shouldn't have to have been that mangled in the first place.

That poor Diablo. Should have gone with the 959, 4wd might have helped the talentless.

They really should reconsider whether Flintoff and McGuiness should be driving the cars that need a certain amount of driver skill. Chris Harris clearly knows what he's doing, the other pair clearly don't!

So the question is, when was this filmed? I know the first episode was early March. I ask, as this was MOT'd 4th May this year and had an advisory of a low rear tyre. If it was before, they it may have been fixed, but if it was after then the low rear tyre may explain the exit through the scenery in the rain when he hit the throttle!

The only silver lining was that the Focus RS got repaired.
It got filled with bodge from what I have seen. And the rear bumper was off an ST170.

Parts are too expensive to repair them properly.

This really is appalling tosh. The same irritating childish rubbish every week, even what could have been an interesting head to head between the RS6 and Urus was nothing more than an infantile slagging match. Time to shoot the horse...

Another 3 cars wrecked, ok they were crappy ones to begin with but I think they’ve run out of ideas...
Really don’t get the whole Urus vs RS6 piece either unless Audi put a caveat in that they had to place both cars on the show and weren’t allowed to review independently or against another marque?

I think it will be the last time i make an effort to watch it as it is oh so predictable.

What is it next week , UK TG against the German TG in a series of stupid "challenges" - what an original idea

It really is appalling. Got as far as the water skiing so far, not sure I can take any more.

Top Gear wasn’t always about the long silly sketches. They used to be on the odd show, now they have to be on them all. I know the old presenters started it, but the new show didn’t have to carry on.

Not watching...not sure I'll bother now

Trying to think if I've genuinely LoL'd hard at any of the new series.

I almost broke down when Clarkson did the Robin Reliant sketch. Building it up all seriously. Motoring journalism. Then rolled it, again, and again and again. Was very funny, maybe I was just in the right mood.

Then the F Type convertible review. Really built it up. British classic design. Masterpiece engine and exhaust note to die for.

Then he went shopping and laid out that tiny hotel breakfast jam/preserve and tiny butter as the boot was so small.

It was subtle stuff with a really long and intricate review build up.

Now it's just shouting loudly at each other, and braking things.

I'm 45 next week, just out of touch I guess now 😂

I watched the F-type one again the other day, this really was TopGear at its finest. In fact when I think about it, this evenings episode is almost an insult to what the show used to be (or is it like everything in the past where we only remember the good memories)

Just watched my favourite 5 minutes from that era. The part when they took 3 F Types to The Mall along with every other type of vehicle made in the U.K.

The F1 cars running down roads in Milton Keynes looked pretty cool.

The old Top Gear had loads old crap in, especially towards the end. But it also had some occasional mega bits in it. The new one is just all crap.

I did like the Spain episode as well where they went flat out around that track and made up that race track on that deserted housing estate (or have I mixed 2 episodes there?)

Just watched Ep3 on iPlayer.

Utter garbage.

The who series looks like a it's been produced with a budget cut of 80%.

Very, very poor effort.

Lasts nights episode certainly wasn’t great. The phone got lifted plenty during the programme.

Agree with Chris on the Clarkson Robin Reliant episode, brilliant comedy.

Yes, loved that episode down the Mall.

I find McGuiness just shouts and has zero driving talent, Flintoff I tolerate as he’s not quite so loud as McGuiness. I think McGuiness is loud as he feels out of his depth and he’s a bit dim.

Hate the programme now other than when Chris does a proper drive and review.

Thank that the new era of Top Gear may have its days numbered on BBC1 , bold move in the first place but could be the old adage of if we are paying so much for these buffoons than at least make it main stream. At least back when it was Clarkson / May & Hammond you had the choice on a Sunday night missus would watch some of "her" TV and the boys would scuttle off to the other room for a bit of petrol head heaven. The original 3 at least used a platform that allowed us mere mortals to drool over the cars we could only dream of affording. These new 3 seem to just get a bulk of money and go and see how stupid you can be, watched the first 2 but think ill leave it from now on and wait for the Grand Tour special to arrive on Amazon prime. This run of Top Gear has only been given 5 weeks ?? maybe there is a reason for that. Agree with most of the comments on here, Harris is well known for his car knowledge but just seems lost with the other 2 trying to be the center of attention, Freddie is fearless and have to admire that no way anyone would think about bungee jumping a metro off a dam but...... balls of steel , McGuinnes is just noise stick with the game shows and second tier to Peter Kay...... New Top Gear definitely No Likey.

Definitely a low point last night.

Even though they were 3 older cars i am not sure wilful destruction every week is going to endear them to the general public especially now that many are experiencing hard times.
