4 series LED reverse bulbs

I am looking to buy some LED bulbs for my reverse lights. Any idea on where I can find them? Most of the bulbs i find come from 3 series bulb sizes that dont fit on the 4 series.

Thanks in advanced!

Find out what bulb you have in your lamps, google that number along with 'LED'. Amazon is usually the best source. They will require coding, there's no getting around that.

I was just shopping for some this week. According to the user manual, it is PW16W. But looking at a few threads on this forum, PW24W should work fine.

I ordered the PW24W and should receive it today. I will follow up on how they fit/perform later.

Cool, I just did the same, hoping for the best.

Got these and just installed them. It is directional so you don't have to deal with +/- terminal problem like other bulb type. Now just have to change some settings on ECU...

One minor trouble is to putting back in the carpet cover. The emergency trunk release and the red clip for the cable can be hard to clip back in and the clearance is pretty tight. In terms of the bracket for the bulbs, there are 3 clips. One is in gray and pretty obvious, the other two are hidden but it is easy to push the fin-like clips to release, then you pull straight down. Other than that it is a 10-15 minutes job.

Amazon or eBay. Not that hard.

so you mean you have to code them as BillFitz mentioned above? If you can post a pic we'd love to see how they look i've got the same car.

I realized if I open the driver side door, the car will shift back to Park. Had to climb over to take these

lol yea I learned that as well when I was cleaning my calipers (too lazy to jack up the car and take the wheels off that day) and I kept moving my car back and forth so the rims on the wheel wouldn't be in the way of the caliper when i was brushing them.

That looks nice, I like it. I also like how you blackened the 435i badge it matches the exterior and blends in, I have a silver one and if I did it on mine the contrast would make it look boy racerish IMO

now all we need is the LCI tail lights

Yeah for 9 bucks I have no complaints.

Initially I wanted to de-badge, but I don't want to put it back on if I want to sell later. I had a plasti-dip laying around so I just sprayed it.

Speaking of taillight, I actually like pre-LCI better. GTS ones are nice too, now I just need to convince her we need a GTS for... groceries

428 led reverse bulb

Finally got the bulbs put in. Coded them using bimmercode "LED"

These looks very bright. They really light up in the darkness.

Can anyone confirm then that any PW24W LED, whether it be a DRL, Signal or reverse, will work in the reverse light socket of a 4 series? There are tons of them on eBay stating DRL but I am having a hard time finding any that specifically say for reverse.

It doesn't matter what it says for position. What matters is that it's white, and the base looks exactly like the picture above. If it doesn't it won't fit.

I can assure you that the bulb doesn't know or care if you use it for DRL, signal or reverse. All that counts is, and I quote, "What matters is that it's white, and the base looks exactly like the picture above. If it doesn't it won't fit." Besides, Tooadvanced already answered your question, with pictures to boot.
