Joie 360 Child seats

Does anybody have one?

I need practical man advice as I’m sick of reading mums net.

We currently use a maxi cosy car seat and have an isofix base for each car. The little one is getting a bit big for it now and I’m sick of him kicking the seats. More importantly though I’m sick to death of the infernal rattling from the base being sat in my car when he’s not in it.

Its also a pain getting him in and out of the wife’s mini due to the tiny back doors, so we are thinking the 360 might be a good option. I have read that it sits quite high though which could be an issue?

most importantly somebody please tell me that the joie is not the rattling pile of crap the maxi cosy is?

I’m also not too keen on shelling out for 2 bases again so wondered what they are like for swapping between cars?

All isofix mounted seats rattle, belt fixed in ones don't. I have a joie, albeit not the 360 and it's a pain in the ass, adjustability of the straps is shite.

+1 the 360 also rattles. Actually it creaks but it's the same thing. Occasionally I empty the car - including car seats - and it's like driving a different motor.

I have the 360 in the X5. It works better than it did in the F30, where it was arguably too big, and it does rattle as others have said.

It's fairly cheap for a rotating seat, but they do add bulk over a fixed equivalent. Depends what your needs are, the easy of child extraction was worth it before my little one was walking. Now he's more robust he can be chucked in and out any seat with greater ease.

looks like I’m going to be stuck listening to the dam things for a while yet then.

Aside from the noise, what we have at the minute is fine for my G31.
We do have trouble getting him in and out of the wife’s mini though. By the sounds of things the added bulk of the 360 is going to be an issue. I may have to go somewhere and have them fit it to see what access it like before I buy one.

We had two of the Maxi Cosi AxissFix for a couple of years. Didn't rattle. https://www.maxi-cosi.co.uk/gb-en/ca.../axissfix.aspx Not cheap though, but being able to turn the seat getting them in and out is a Godsend.

I didn’t know maxi cosy did a 360 version. That may be a good alternative to compare against the joie

My daughter has a GB Vaya I Size for my now 2 year old grandson. She says it has been in all their cars (from Mini 5 door to X3, with 440i and E class coupe in between in size terms).

She really rates it, apparently it doesnt rattle although you do have to remember to lock it in place or it swings whilst you go!

The views expressed are hers and not mine - I am only passing them on! I've driven the Mini with it in but normally then I am a) disgusted by the mess in the car - shoes, cans, kiddie toys etc; and b) trying to work out how to get reverse, find a gear, work the radio to get it off Kiss or some other shite....

+1, we have one of these too, and I'd buy another.

We have two Cybex isofix bases (one in each car) and the Cybex Cloud Q baby carrier. The bases both rattled like crazy at first but I already had a roll of felt tape from my OCD rattle fixing kit and so I went to town on it. They no longer rattle. I'd also recommend seat protectors.

I'm about to push the button on a Britax Dualfix but am interested in how much they protrude from the rear seat backrest when set to rear facing? I like the drivers seat on the lowest height and am worried about leg space for driving? Any experiences welcome.

I can't have the current baby carrier behind the drivers seat as there's just not enough room.

We have the new Joie i-size 360, it rattles more than the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix with the isofix base. I've got a seat protector which helps reduce the noise a little.

We've got maxi Cosi axiss-fix seats in each of our cars and absolutely love them, solid, don't rattle (if fitted properly) and very easy for little one to get in/out

They're not too bad - we've got them in our F31 and MINI Clubman and it gives enough legroom. Sorry - might have missed something on a previous post, but why put them behind the driver's seat?

You may want to consider the Axxisfix, as this doesn't use the floor leg support and kills the room for the front seats. Also, the swing of 360 seats also means you can't keep the front seats back as far as you may want.

Yeah same, don't have anymore but the back doesn't really stick out any further forward than the base does....

I'm 5'11" and have the seat relatively reclined and sitting back. I can't have the Joie 360 behind me because of the swing but have the Maxi Cosi in there comfortably. The Joie sits behind the passenger seat as her indoors is only tiddly.

Thanks for the info. I spent about 45 mins at Halfords car park yesterday evening trying a few. The Britax DualFix iSize was quite big and there's no way I'd be able to drive comfortably with it behind the driver seat. I've gone for the Cybex Sirona S iSize.

I can't decide between the Joie 360 spin or Britax Dualfix Romer for a new born. Space won't be an issue as the seat will be behind passenger and girlfriend is only small.

Although reading the above, the Cybex Sirona S is now also thrown into the mix.

Decisions decisions
