I was having my tires rotated and balanced today and noticed oil around drivers side differential. Does this look like a bad seal to you guys?

How many miles does your vehicle have? Did the dealer inspect the differential during the last CBS maintenance?

Currently at 55k. Honestly I'm not sure if they did.

Probably leaking from the output shaft seal. Looks like it has been leaking for a while with the amount of dust on it. But not seeing any drip so might not be too bad.
Check the oil level and top up. Is the diff making any noise?

I had the same thing on my 2013, see post below.

Dealer had to replace seal and top off oil.

A few months ago I noticed a high pitched sound when accelerating. Did some research and concluded that the noise may be coming from the diff. I brought it in and they said all was well and couldn't reproduce the sound. I have a feeling this is where the sound is coming from.

Awesome. Thanks. Just contacted my SA. Should this be covered under CPO?

My SA replied:

"Sorry ... – I got your text and again, this doesn’t bother me at all. I forwarded this picture to my shop foreman. I will see if this is leaking enough to the point of coverage. I cannot make those decisions but it looks like the seal may be “sweating” but I will know for sure shortly."

"Sweating"? Really? I think when some material that is supposed to be kept inside gets outside, it is called leaking.

lol, yep! I said "Not sure about sweating, there's oil caked all over". We'll see what they come back with. I don't think this can be classified as "sweating".

What is "sweating" as described by the mechanic? Just trying to see some credible insight even if improperly described.

Wish I knew. It doesn't even make sense. It's a damn leak, that's all.

What's the charge air pressure sensor? Is this anything to do with the diff?

Much better than "sweating" diagnosis. ;-). Glad to hear that all is well.
