Would it be possible to enable 606 Business Navigation on a brand new F36 with the new HU_ENTRYNAV unit?

The car has the new HU_ENTRYNAV unit but 606 Business Navigation options was not purchased. Any way to enable it with FSC codes, etc? And maybe even BMW Apps?

You can check with bimmertech and see if they can get them for you but it will be very expensive; probably upwards of USD$1000.

Your other option would be the load the FSC codes from another vehicle that has this this option and use an emulator to enable it via hardware. This will cost you about $150 but you will need to revert everything back to factory whenever you take the car back in for service.

Long time ago... Did you manage to enable navigation on your Entrynav_HU?

I have the same HU at a 2015 F34 and am very interested to get this feature to work...

Only way is to buy a new headunit, costing in the thousands to replace.

Just to make sure: We're talking about the new 3/2004 and later HU Entrynav and not the former HU Entry ->Champ2.

Since the new 2015 Radio Prof. is also HU Entrynav (like new Navi Business)
and even can be retrofitted to the big 8,8" screen (I´ve already done it),
I´m still curious whether navigation can also be enabled at this HU?

The HU hardware seems to be very similar, if not the same, but it has no GPS plug and
of course no FSC files stored. Maybe both could be retrofitted and navi enabled?

If I had FSCs therefore, I´d give it a try using emulator...
Any advise, ideas...?

Formerly I have already tried to VO code the HU with 606, but an error showed up and there was no new CAFD written to the HU + also the original CAFD was gone.
Somehow the HU doesn't like the 606 code. Any idea on this? Maybe it has to be flashed?
I could also try just FDL coding as there are a lot of navi related options?

I would expect 606 version has different firmware, so ENTRY_NAV would need ot be flashed with 606 in FA.

Will it be possible to flash only the HU or will probably other ECUs be involved? I'd prefer to avoid flashing as far as possible, if not at all

And will it be neccessary and possible to flash back everything when I will have service at BMW? Hmm...

Also, what about the split screen that is on NBT? is it functional on entrynav with 8,8" screen?

Sorry, as I've found an NBT unit, I haven't tried finally to enable navigation at Entrynav.

Probably you would have to flash it, install a GPS-socket and then you'd need FSC codes and an emulator. In total a lot...

@kucsi:
It's easy to retrofit the 8,8" screen at Entrynav. In another thread I've written more details about it. Someone even posted here a description somewhere.

You just have to replace the screen, the cable is the same and plug&play, then you need 2 FDL-codings in the HU: screen resolution 1280x480/8,8" and screen variant wide.

It feels like my car has GPS, it knows it's position both in Google Maps on iDrive and also when I ask for it's position in the BMW Remote app on my phone.

I've been reading a lot on how to retrofit from Hu_Entry to Hu_EntryNav (Magnetti Marelli unit with Business nav) plus adding the idrive touch (without the touch function). Though there are plenty of posts that i've read, I would still like to ask for your advice before I'm starting this retrofit.
1. I would have to install the new unit and add the GPS antenna and the other plugs that are different from the basic unit. (i have to mention here that I've already retrofit to a 10.25 android screen which looks very nice and works with the old Hu_Entry).
2. I will need to read FA and then change the 6NH to 6NS, right? Do I have to change something else here?
3. Go back and read SVT, and code the Hu-EntryNav. (the folder not the CAFD file) I have to mention that I have the VIN of the donor car and the lifetime update code for the nav.
Now after coding what will be my next step, do I need to save something first, I have an emulator attached to the harness, do I enter. any VIN anywhere.
Regarding the FSC codes do I have to load them from the new unit or is going to be done automatically when I code it.

This is nothing I have ever personally done, so I am not the best to ask about this.

1) Yes, that's true.
2) FA needs more changes than just 6NH to 6NS for Bluetooth. Car likley has 645 BMW US Radio or something similar that needs to be changed to 606 Business Navigation. While Bluetooth and Navigation are the primary FA changes needed, there may be others still depending on other things such as 6NR BMW Apps, etc.
3) You will use the OEM Donor FSC Codes in HU_ENTRYNAV that it came with and the emulator, or maybe you replace Donor set with a different set that includes more functionality such as 6NR BMW Apps. This is choiec you have to make. Once you have ENTRYNAV with correct set of FSC Codes, you just need to VO Code it.
