Anyone fitted JB+ to 330i B48?

I am thinking of buying a JB+ for the B48/58. Just wondering if anyone has fitted one and if you think it was worth the money. Cheapest I have seen it is £189 from ML Performance, anyone know of anywhere cheaper or of a forum discount code. I did email Burger Motorsport for a dyno chart for the 330i but they never came back to me so I guess they haven't got one

Would be interested to hear about this. Is the 330i essentially not just a remapped 320i? I’d be worried about putting excessive stress on the drivetrain, particularly with a manual box.

I've put a JB+ on my 340i which already has the MPPSK fitted and it took it up to 422bhp on a rolling road 😊

Almost, it is basically the same engine as the 320i but with some differences. I believe the 320i has different pistons with higher compression ratio than the 330i, so the 330i is almost certainly running higher boost than the 320i. A JB+ will add another 4psi boost so will hopefully provide more power/torque without affecting driveability.

The 330 is the B48. The 320 has more in common with the 328 N20 but has a different exhaust and tune. The JB+ and JB4 for the B58 may work with the B48. I know at least the latter is true.

Thanks for the offer but I am in Bristol. I will just buy one and try it, I am sure it can only improve things

The jb plus seems to fit both b48 and b58 engines. Seems it just increases boost.

I asked bluesparks about their boxes today and they seem to produce big figures but are only 2 channel. they said they constantly update their code where as dtuk don't for example. I did dismiss them a while ago but seem to be OK.

I like the jb plus as it's easily transferable to any flavour b58 engine as it's just wacking up the boost ( at a basic level!)

Just installed a JB+ on my 330i/B48 today. I left the boost setting at the default 3 o’clock setting. First drive in Comfort mode, a slightly better throttle response, kind of similar to Sport mode. In Sport/Sport Plus mode a very slight difference to without the JB+ if any. I am hoping to feel more of a power increase over the next few days once the ECU has had a chance to adapt (so I have been told). After reading all the positive comments on the forum about the JB+ I was a little disappointed with the initial result as I was expecting more!

I’ll give it a few days, do some 0-100 sprints and report back, fingers crossed!

The B48 330i and the B48 320i are exactly the same engine. Unlike the N20 320 and 328 that had different pistons the B48 variety do not, they just have different maps and bhp. Lots of manufacturers do this now, where you buy the same engine with different bhp.

When they did the LCI the 320i got the B48 engine too, that's why I bought one.

So after 3 days of driving I can say the JB+ does make quite a difference compared to stock. I can feel the power difference and the car pulls a lot better now- this the way that car should have come from factory. I did a few 0-100km pulls and they were around 5.5s

Installed mine 2 days ago and can't believe the difference, seems to be crying out for throttle input now almost telling me to hit it.

no erratic gear changes or change to low speed driveability as some have reported.

Definitely recommend for a cheap hit of additional horsepower, till you get used to it and the search for the next mod takes over the mind which always happens.
