San Diego: BMW of Vista or BMW of SD for SERVICE

Can anyone recommend me which one is better for servicing (Vista or SD): Oil change, brakes, fixing rattles/squeaks, customer service experience etc.

Also, please let me know if you can recommend a service adviser.

I've heard a lot of praise from vista and Encinitas plus they sponsor/organize events and have staff who are actual enthusiast. If you go to Encinitas though avoid the crusty old SA, forgot his name but bad service. Larry the service guy is chill and will hook you up with parts. So far I've noticed guys at El Cajon and San Diego are douches.

Oh yea Encinitas and Vista is a bit more mod friendly and they accommodate a bit more. Their techs drive modded BMW's so they can relate

The main thing I'm looking for is knowledgeable service techs/advisers who know about SIBs, TSBs etc. and know how to resolve issues properly. I don't like when service techs open up cars to fix one thing and then create new issues by opening a can of worms. Also don't like careless techs who can damage your car.

I've had some bad experience in the past so really want to avoid going to a bad place.

How about you make a trip down to LA county and come see me for service? I assure you it'll be worth the 80 something odd miles.

I have tried dealing with both SD and EC BMW and the only good thing of EC BMW is that their parts department will discount some parts. SD not so much.

SD BMW, while my experience was somewhat pleasant, the SA was not very knowledgeable and the place did not even have a loaner available, but I have other cars so I did not need one. I had to twist an arm slightly to get a 35 dollar piece replaced. And my car still making a noise that they could not fix and they had the car for several days. I will give them one more chance maybe because the SA and the shop foreman that helped me were mostly pleasant and willing to at least show that they cared and were listening and trying to help. So as far as Customer Service they seem on point, but I do wish the service adviser knew more.

Vista BMW is a hell of a trek from SD, but it might be worth it according to this thread.

Come to McKenna BMW and you'll be in good hands! I'm constantly updating myself with product knowledge and certifications, and obviously if you check out my IG, you'll see that I'm a fellow enthusiast as well.

Thanks Charlie but its really too far for me. I'm leaning towards BMW of Vista but if anyone can recommend a SA, please let me know. Also if anyone has any negative experience please share as well.

I went back to BMW of SD to give them another go and this time around I had a great experience. They replaced quite a few parts under warranty even without me even mentioning it to them. I also asked for a new SA and the guy was pretty great. I will say that they did try to keep my business and for that I give them kudos.

Have not been serviced at Mossy [Vista,] but have bought a car there, and know that they sponsor M Fest.
