This might sound like a dumb question but how do i make mirror fold when car is locked and unfold when it is unlocked. It worked before.. Is it because i closed them when i was inside the car... Have i messed the setting??? How do i make them wor again? The user manual is useless Help

Lock car then press and hold the lock button. Mirrors will fold in. They unfold when you press unlock.

Long press on the initial lock works a treat. I think a second press of lock disables the internal volumetric sensors for the alarm.

Do they unfold when you press the button beside the mirror select switch on the drivers door? Mine work on the keyfob or the button. If I fold them with the button then I have ti unfold them with it. If I use the key, they unfold when unlock is pressed.

Just guessing now... Where is your adjustment selector? Shouldn't make a difference. However, my selector is on the drivers side mirror. This also enables the reversing dip of the passenger side mirror...

I want them to work like how it used to when i picked the car. It was operating with keyfob ie: when lock the car they fold and when unlock the car they unfold. I once pressed from inside to fold them...is that the reason it got messed up??? How do i put ir back right please??

Press the button on the door to fold them in. Press again to unfold. As said above put the mirror adjust selector to the drivers mirror which also activates the passenger mirror to look down when you reverse.

Well, I didn't know that. If you're right I can now lock the touring when popping into the shops as the dogs set the alarm off all the time. I'll try it out in the morning. No mention of this in the manual.

Haven't checked it out on the F30. This was the case for my E90, useful for a Car Ferry as also disables the tilt sensor...

If it works you get a flash if the red light and then I seem to remember a different flashing pattern. Coming back from France the tilt sensor self disabled...

Kind of obvious...... but the mirrors also unfold when I press the boot unlock button on the key fob as well as the normal door unlock button on the key fob.

If you fold the mirrors using the button inside the car, once you lock the car, they of course stay folded in. Under these circumstances the mirrors do NOT unfold on unlocking the car. This is absolutely right as it is possible that the driver may have folded the mirrors in using the button (whilst you are still in the car) to fit the car in a narrow gap, so you wouldn't want the mirrors to unfold automatically (e.g. if the passenger door is close to a wall/gatepost).

If, however, the OP is saying they folded the mirrors by pressing and holding the lock button on the key, there is no reason why the mirrors shouldn't unfold on unlocking the car, so this means a trip to the dealer.

That's exactly what i did, my garage is narrow and i had to fold my mirrors to get in. After that they never worked from keyfob. I also tried the method by holding the lock and it folds fine but upon pressing unlock , it won't unfold. It really annoys me as i only collected my car yesterday ... I will try different things tomorrow..fold and unfold from inside and then use keyfod method...hope it works

It is in my manual. Is the alarm an option in the uk? Look at the section on arming your alarm.

It is handy for ferry trips. And probably for your dogs.

It is same for my E91, two press disables interior sensor.

Although it is fun leaving daughter in car with alarm fully set and her unable to move about without setting it off.

Loads of fun.

Long press on the lock button folds in, single press on unlock winds them out on my tourer.
