Good to hear it!

The new car is great. Thinking of taking it up your neck of the woods (for old tones sake) to give it a blast!!!

Hi Lorcan, wondered if you know of any ACS spring suppliers/fitters in the Bury/Rochdale/Oldham area.

Many many thanks in advance.

MP-UK at Irlam, Manchester would be my choice. Speak to John Glover on 0161 507 5005 for a price

Thanks very much Lorcan i will give him a ring, if not i will purchase the springs and use a local guy in Middleton, they always do a good job and have all the equipment, they're just always busy.

OK! If you can run to it it would be worth considering the sports dampers as well. F36s really benefit from them.

Lorcan what's your opinion on spacers?

I enquired about getting Eibach springs fitted by Motech and the guys there recommended spacers as well. I've noticed that you've not really recommended them, so I'm curious on your opinion of them.

Once christmas is done I'll be investigating ACS springs. I'd love to get the ACS remap done as well, but £3k is a bit much!

Edit: I mean your opinion of them with regard to handling improvment.

There is no handling improvement from spacers, they are purely cosmetic. You might even notice a slowness or heaviness from the steering, but it's only slight. AC Schnitzer don't make spacers for BMW wheels so we sell Eibach, as they are the best available. I would steer clear of cheap spacers that are not the full diameter of the hub, some of the ones I've seen have the bolt holes very close to the edge of the spacer.

Would love too, but it's an expensive year for me and can't find the extra grand or so it would cost to have the dampers as well.

Just rang MP-UK, gave a very competitive price for fitting at £262.50, i also asked for a price for the springs as well and he quoted £631 (springs only) which going off previous comments on this forum is pretty expensive, considering the link you have for Rossiters comes out at £318.99. So has me a little confused for the minute , not sure if you are allowed to give us links to what would be the cheapest supplier. Many thanks for your time.

MP-UK are selling the springs at the retail price of £318.99, please call them again to check. £631 is the price for an M4.

It’s been good reading this thread. Although it looks like I’m now going to be buying springs !
I wanted a lower look and I’ve sold it to the Mrs based on the fact that the boot will be an 1” lower for the dog.

Having an F31 without adaptive suspension does feel a bit boaty.

Lorcan - AA are only 45 mins away from me so I’ll give them a call.

Yes it is an excellent thread, learning different people's experience's and some excellent information.

Well done selling the lowered suspension, great idea, but i don't have any dogs !!!. Could probably get it past her but i also want a dashcam, won't be able to swing both, so looks like take Halfords up on their offer of 25 per cent off and then wait a couple of months for the springs. Yep wait until we've got past the crappy weather

Just wondered how many people have problems with the front spoiler particularly those with the M performance one's either catching on incline's/decline's, speed humps or anything else that i have forgotten. Any good idea's out there to get round this, short of actually removing the spoiler. Cheers.

It's the dampers that give the horrible floaty ride. They are so bad as to border on dangerous.

Cheers devil, yes i am a little bit worried, as very occasionally it does catch reversing on to the drive and that's without it being lowered, i will be taking the risk and getting them fitted and put up with it possibly catching, if it gets too bad then i'll just remove the splitter and buy the corner ones. But like you say it does look so much better with the slight drop.

You don't need to change the bumpstops as long as they are in good condition.
