Yes, there is a cost for them. You supply the VIN & the codes come back.

I'm just wondering about the WiFi antenna as I didn't order EBT originally.

Done some coding a while ago and I was able to enable WiFi in my car, I just couldn't connect to it because it kept asking about a password.

Does that mean that I have the antenna already and I would only need to do some 'standard' coding and getting this special FSC code?

I have a 2018 430i GC ordered it without EBT. I did this retrofit and it worked without having to install the WiFi antenna. I assume my car had the antenna to begin with.

That sounds good.

How did you obtain this special FSC code?

Was any manual work involved in the process or it was only about doing some extra coding?

There are people who can generate the FSC codes for a fee. Once you have the codes and files, it's as simple as putting them on a USB and connecting it in your glove box. They will give you all the instructions once they generate the files. PM me your email address and I can get you in touch with them.

Yes greedy becomes greedier. Next they will charge for blind spot detection and ABS for $10 a month. What a shame, last BMW for me.

The only way a subscription makes sense is if you get new functionality, like Orifice 365.

This is a shit move from BMW, clearly they want a steady cash flow, however they will just get a lesser cash flow as people just say no.

Agreed, BMW does not provide software updates on a regular basis (at least in the US) and I don't see any intent from them on changing this. Their CEO recently said that their goal is to maximize profits and this is a clear indication of that intent.

Does anyone know how this 'subscription change' might affect cars that have had Apple CP retrofitted?

I spoke with Craig yesterday. Had a really good long conversation about getting this done and also fitting the Antenna and coding EBT. He definitely knows his stuff and sounds really knowledge.

Mulling it over but mostly likely will get it done very soon
