Take it to the strip for sure. Your car will be okay. Tracking/autoX is where you see the poor thing accrue 10K miles in 10 miles lol.

Most, if not all, tracks should rent out helmets. I think ours is like $20 here lol.

+1. A couple hits on the drag strip will not hurt the car.

My track rents helmets for the day for $5 Island drag way in NJ is where I go if anyone's local

Thanks guys. Definitely will do it soon... as far as technique - Im clueless. Im guessing just putting the pedal to the metal is not the best plan for a good time. I dont have SAT or LC enabled - want to just havent had the time to venture outside of BimmerCode. I have a feeling it is possible in expert mode but havent been able to determine that definitively yet.

If your car is an auto, like you said, there is no technique after the first 60ft. Not sure if you're xDrive or not, but if so, that makes it even easier. I'm xDrive (no LC or SAT), and I simply brake boost to about 3k, dump the brake and go, not even an inkling of wheelspin. As far as setup, I put the transmission lever over the the left into sport (but let it shift itself), and hold the traction button for 10 seconds to put it into "dynamic driving characteristics" mode or something like that. With lower horsepower, automatic transmission cars like ours, drag racing is not very difficult.

Let me know if it can't. Getting ESys going and coding is actually pretty simple.

If you aren't XDrive, I recommend launching at about 2k - 2.4k, whatever your tires can take without you spinning.

Awesome. Looking to get some more members up on the board. Including myself. Not so much about being #1 but more so the ability to track progress and compare to others. Should help some determine what mods they may or may not want to invest in as well.

So far: all Piggy Back tunes posted. Looking forward to seeing results from someone with a flash/dyno tune. I believe thats the route Ill choose.

Can you guys bring some of that quarter mile down to SD? Lol

We have a 1/8 in the parking lot of the Chargers stadium... I'm sure you can imagine how great that is in terms of traction lol.

I'm getting getting BM3 installed this week and I'll definitely hit the strip very soon after I get it installed. I'll be sure to post results here, hopefully I can shave a bit off of my time.

I have a manual and haven't quite mastered the launch yet so my 60 foot is terrible and my times aren't that great. However I clocked in at 102.26 mph which is definitely a low to mid 13 time with the right launch I have catless downpipe, VRSF HD intercooler, and BM3 Stage 2 93 AGG tune. If anyone is running better times with a manual post it up

Well, they say 1 tenth in the 60ft is worth 2 on the ET. So you could definitely shave at least a second of your ET with a better 60. I guess these are the woes of you 6MT guys . Nice start though! I'm sure with more runs and practice launching you could pull a low 13 second pass.

Not to speak for him, but they look like Federal 595 RS-RRs. I don't know much about them, but if you're switching from RFT's, anything is a huge improvement.

Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Looks like they don't offer Jet Black anymore, but search Amazon/eBay for BMW F80 Trunk Spoiler and you should see a bunch of options
