Hi guys-- hoping someone can help me out because I seem to be in a disagreement with the dealer about math...

2018 M3
MSRP: $79095
"invoice": $74992
Residual: $47457
MF: .00152
36 months / 12k miles / $0 down
Acq. Fee: $925
Doc fees: $1193.40 (seems way too high to me)
Incentives: $5000

By my math, I should have an adjusted cap cost of $72110 (invoice + fees - incentives).

My depreciation amount (adj cap - residual) should be $24653. So depreciation payment is $684.81.

Rent charge should be (adj cap + depreciation amount * money factor) $147.08.

This puts me at $890 / month when you add the 7% tax.

The dealer is talking about all this stuff about cap cost reduction taxes and the like... they say with these same assumptions they get to a payment of $987. It's bullshit right? Can someone confirm I'm doing the math right, please?

Thank you!!!

First, doc fee to me seems very high. At least in NJ I believe its around 395. Are you paying anything up front and I'm assuming 0 down payment. Now the incentives does that include rebates? If so, negotiate the msrp down without rebates.

Now we just have to trust our dealers? I was hoping numbers would improve for December but they actually got worse, disappointing.

It's frustrating. I originally dealt with a local salesman that was a friend of a friend and he gave me his best quote and sent the Lease breakdown. Because of this thread, I was immediately able to comment that he put the max markup on the Money Factor, and of course he dropped it immediately and sent another breakdown. I guess it wasn't really his "best deal." So I walked away without any further comment.

The only one to give me an incredible rate with no fuss up front was Steve Thomas BMW. I already had my car delivered but I still like monitoring the thread to see how things are trending. And of course I was curious to see how low things would get for the holidays before they start going up again next year. If you want to skip the hassle, I'd recommend working with Jimmy.

It seems to vary region to region. I can't confirm what other regions are doing so best to check with your current dealer and confirm.

What happened with the 4-series GC's? Were they subsidized back in 2014/5 and now not? I think my residual was 62% for 10K miles when I signed the lease on 12/24/14. I got an amazing deal and now am afraid my next one isn't going to be so hot
note I am at $533/mo ($0 down, 10K mi, 39 mo, $56,065 MSRP, but 7 MSD's so I know that's extra $)

A series of questions.... thanks in advance guys!

#1 -- Does the holiday incentive ($3,000) apply to service loaners that can be leased (under 5,000 miles) ?

#2 -- What is loyalty incentive? Does it apply the same as #1 above.

#3 -- Is $34,495 a good price for a $39,495 sticker 2017 320i that had been used as a service loaner and can be leased? It's ~13% below sticker... seems like they should be selling for ~20% under sticker, but don't have any experience with these things. They have both 2018 and 2017's on the lot (though pretty much all the 17's are prev. service loaners at this point).

#4 -- For #3, their deal was $289 + tax, $4k out of pocket, 36 months, 10k miles a year. I don't know if this includes #1/#2. Haven't had time yet to back into the numbers.

Also to note, I am using BMW's pull ahead program, which is covering all but one payment of my lease.

#1 it should
#2 It means you are turning in a BMW lease or trading in a BMW to get into another BMW, i.e. loyal to BMW
#3 I'd shoot for more off sticker. then add the lease credit on top. At a minimum they should be coming an additional #3k (lease credit) off of the sticker price.
#4 Do not put any money down. Also find out the MF and other fees that they are including in the up front payment and the monthly payment.

Thanks! These vehicles are going quick... since posting (I've been monitoring their site) they've dumped 50% of their loaners in 4 days. So clearly people are buying them.

They don't control the lease credit right? That comes from BMWFS? I.e., they can't screw me there, right? Same with loyalty and BMWCCA?

I don't put money down on leases. Did MSD's until they dropped it in past... though not on my last M4 since I knew I'd end up lease swapping it out.

REALLY hoping #1 is true... as it would result in nearly 25% off sticker.

Like GOLFFRR said, check with your region because some areas apparently only do $2k. And they can't screw you over on the credit, but they can claim that it's included in their $34k offer or in the $39k sticker. But a good dealer will give you a dealer credit, and then ask what other discounts you qualify for and take that off the top. Not all dealers will budge, but that's why you always have the option to walk away at any time in the deal. Especially if they feel like they're moving cars fast anyway so they don't need to accommodate you just because you're more well versed on the opportunities compared to someone else.

Yep, as expected -- the $5k discount on the $38,000 car was including the $3,000 rebate. Doesn't seem like a good deal at all to me, considering it's already a MY old and there's 2018's on the lot now that also get the $3,000 credit.

Not seeing many people post lower end 320/328 deals here -- is invoice a good price for the car (2018 320i or 2018 328i) before incentives?

Is it unlikely to get this deal?

2018 BMW 3 Series: 320i
MSRP: $38,145.
Sale price: Invoice (Believe this is $35,475).
Holiday credit: $3,000.
BMW Loyalty: ??? Is this still available? I saw it referenced in an e-mail, and from what I see it's $1,000 towards 2018 3 series... is that correct?
Total sales price: $31,475.
Total discounts: ~$6670 (17.5% off MSRP).
Additional cash back from CCA: $500.

Can you combine loyalty and holiday credit? I am turning in 2015 M235i lease and taking delivery of a 2018 440i at the end of this month.

That’s a great deal in my eyes.

Yes you can combine loyalty and holiday.
