Absolutely. All the power in the world is useless if you cant put it to the ground. Its why you have Porsche Turbos and Nissan GTR's in the sub 3 second range and the Corvette Z06 is still a 3.4ish car.

But good for used M3 buyers, since the pre-LCI is becoming cheaper now...

Ummm ... I don't see a face lift here. Can you show me?

Anyone else notice the extra parking sensor located on the bumper near the rear wheel?

Yeah, but as someone else pointed out, the wiring will be different. Specifically, the turn signal spans across the main taillight assembly as well as the bit attached to the trunk. The entire turn signal was localized in the main assembly pre-LCI.

Any retrofit would have to account for new wiring from the light control module to the trunk.

We won't know until the F32 gets its LCI sometime next year. And even if the F32 gets new headlight, there's no indication that the F82 and F80 will get those updated headlights if history is any indication (BMW didn't update the M3 headlights as part of the E46 and E9x LCIs, even though the non-M cars get refreshed headlights).

That said, if BMW does update the F32 headlights without changing their overall shape but doesn't update them on the F8x M3 and M4 for whatever reason, a retrofit will be straightforward.

It's very confusing man, I know. The M3 shares it's headlights with the M4 and 4 series, which receive their LCI next year. You will most likely see the M3 receive updated headlights at that time.

These tadbits below are probably some of the best part of this LCI IMO:

Quote:
Sport Line (ZSL) is no longer available. Many of the contents from ZSL have been integrated into the standard equipment profile of all 328i, 328d and 340i models (including xDrive), including the following Exterior measures:
•High-gloss black finisher surrounding the air-intakes with aluminum-style decorative element
•High-gloss black kidney grille
•High-gloss black B-pillar
•High-gloss black element on rear bumper
•Tailpipe trim in black chrome

...and the following Interior measures:
•Sport seats
•Anthracite headliner
•Instrument cluster with specific dial printing and chrono-scaling
•Sport leather steering wheel with red stitching (N/A with Saddle Brown or Venetian Beige)
•Key Fob with clasp in red

Furthermore, we are excited to announce that Saddle Brown Dakota Leather upholstery (LCDJ) is now available for 328i, 328d and 340i models. Luxury Package is not required for a Saddle Brown interior.

Premium Package (ZPP) no longer includes Leather Dakota (LC).
•LED Headlights (5A2) have been integrated in place of Leather Dakota

Track Handling Package (ZTR) is now available for all 3 Series Sedan models, excluding Diesel models (328d and 328d xDrive). This package includes:
•18" V-spoke Orbit Grey wheel, style 398 (23N), with Michelin Super Sport Tires

•M Sport Brakes (2NH)
•Adaptive M Suspension (2VF)
•Variable Sport Steering (2VL)

I'm guessing that dealers stock a lot of cars with the Premium Package. Many of those considering a BMW feel that leather and sunroof belong on their cars. I'd also guess that few of those who buy off the lot will even know or care that their LCI has LED headlights.

Blind spot sensor is radar based and located behind the bumper cover.

The trunk section already receives power/wiring because the old lights also light up the trunk section, just not for blinkers.

Only for tails, reverse lights and fog lights. Previous poster is correct in saying you now need wiring for indicator in the trunk.

Not if the existing harness can support the indicator light trunk assembly.

They are totally different.

B58 is similar to the B48 and B38 and they share many parts

They did the same with the E46 M3 as well...LCI M3s receive the taillights and interior updates but that's it...everything else stays the same.

Until I see it in person, I think the rear taillights look meh even with the addition of the LEDs. The new front LEDs lights look pretty good.
