MHD CAN ECA on BM3 Tune

Quick question, will the MHD CAN ECA work with my BM3 tune on my B58 F32 440i? If anyone is selling a flex fuel kit, let me know. TIA

You need to flash a custom firmware, but it's pretty easy, contact bimmer ECU solution

It won't work with OTS. You could tap DME wires like a reflex but not really advised.

Yes it will... You just need a different firmware. New firmware for the MHD ECA works with MHD and bootmode completely ots.

I emailed BIMECU and this is what they told me:

Bm3 does not have a selection

It should work right away,
It does not?

Does BM3 even read the ethanol content?

Yes, read the f80post thread, it's the same process. I have the firmware but I'm not sure they want to release it publicly yet.

It's not about the sensor. It's about where the data is communicated. That's why BM3/Dorch/Etc tap into the footwell module.

Same reason it doesn't work on manual cars. My 440i doesn't even have the plug that MHD communicates through.

Also a reason why there are separate options for MHD, Zeitronix, and Reflex for flex fuel communication.

If you have a secret software version that makes it work, cool. But on principle it doesn't work.

They're both plugged into CAN, it doesn't matter where they are plugged in. The ECU doesn't care where they're plugged in. I don't have any special software.

BIMECU sent me a firmware to update the MHD ECA and it works now on BM3.
