Confimed E90 Clutch fits!
So with more people going with higher power outputs and bigger turbos on our cars the stock clutch will not last. My clutch gave out at 380WHP and we have limited aftermarket support for clutches and flywheel combos. The only one I found so far is a ClutchMasters but it's still very expensive and still uses the faulty SAC pressure plate. So I searched a lot and the data seemed to match up with the older 2010+ 328i E90 setup as they use close to the same Transmission S6-17BG Getrag. With days of calling and gathering info I gave it a go and orders the E90 setup from Southbend and got the Stage 2 clutch kit rated at 500ftlbs and an OEM F30 Flywheel.
When getting both sets side by side they are identical - 9" disk diameter - 240mm pressure plate mounting positions and height - 22 splines. Sized at 1 and 5/32 (or 1 and 1/8) - Center spring hub is the same depth - Both use the same release bearing/ arm and alignment tool. - Same Flywheel and pressure plate mounting bolts. Overall I paid $540 for the stage 2 Southbend clutch disk and around $420 for the F30 flywheel. So very cheap considering the OEM F30 clutch is around $500 and flywheel is around $1100 at the cheapest I found. ClutchMasters is priced at $890 for a stage 2 and their flywheel is around $800-900 as well. Looks like Southbend uses Sachs engineering pressure plate, Sachs release bearing and arm and an uprated LUK disk (or so the center mounting where the splines are say but could just be that center piece and they form their own disk material). So all high quality and OEM components! Update as of 7/3/2019: You can use any 335I pressure plate from the N54 or N55 engine. Piece the kit yourself: Recommend to use the NON SAC Pressure plate Sachs Part#: 883082001243 You can match this up to any aftermarket E90 328I clutch disk. Use factory F30 Flywheel. Setup is good to 550WTRQ. If you want a fully assembled kit and not piece it by yourself: SouthBend will put together the kit for you if you call and ask. Use the clutch disk from K70528-HD either the daily (500ftlbs) or the endurance (580ftlbs) that is for the E90 328I and use the red pressure plate from K70526-02-SS. Happy Tuning guys! Good to hear. What all do you have done to hit 380whp?

Custom twinscroll Mani with a BW EFR 7670 turbo. Stage 2 lpfp, ATM intercooler with FTP CP's, Custom Dyno Map and jb4 for control, ARP upgraded Rod bolts for protection, muffler delete, southbend stage 2 clutch. This is a break in map, I am shooting for 420-450whp. But playing it safe to see how engine internals will hold up. Turbo spools quick and has lots of top end.

NICE WORK. When it comes time to replace my clutch/flywheel, I am going to be referring back to this for sure.

OH okay 👌 also if you don’t mind me asking where did you get the Custom Mani done at? My build is getting their I have ER charpipes, VRSF IC 6 stepped, catless dp ER, afe stage 2 intake, jb4 maps 2 and 5 e85 blend e30 mix basically, res and muffler delete, gfb dv+ and that’s about it plus federal 595 rs rr 275/35/19 with Esr wheels. Lately I’ve been wanting to pull the trigger on bigger turbo forged internals etc... but haven’t had any time due to work and school. What do you suggest in terms of tune I’ve been debating bootmod3 with a ACF performance and jb4 tune but just don’t know yet I do daily this now but want to get 380 or 400 later on as well.

I need to go to brazil for ethanol lol smh why America can you not give us 93 octane and ethanol at every gas station lol that would be a dream there is 100 octane at a 76 gas station but haven't put it in besides a 91 and 100 octane mix which was like 93 octane I guess like the feeling better though on e85 less jittery in my opinon.

D041987 - Did you use the F30 or the E90 flywheel with the Southbend clutch?
If the E90 flywheel will interchange, did you consider the Valeo 835115 solid flywheel conversion kit for the E90 328? |

E90 flywheel will not fit, it does not sit correctly on the splines (Too short and does not go deep enough). You need to use the F30 flywheel and E90 clutch. I do get slight judder with this clutch, so might try another option but only happens on cold morning and first gear starting out. It goes away after a few start and stops and all other gears are smooth. Clutch is also very grabby which might attest to the slight jerkiness cause of the material and extra stiff springs to provide additional clamping force. But a happy 8K miles so far and no slipping or issues.

Correct, it is a flex fuel sensor and the JB4 adjusts the parameters accordingly.

While we are on this subject, I know newer jb4 wire harness's have a fuel pressure sensor to adjust. And that map 5 has the auto tuning feature. But if I were to use a high e mix in a different map, say map 6 user adjustable, would the fuel pressure sensor benefit me and adjust my parameters, and or timing. Or does it only function in map 5?
