DONE! 3AG (rear/backup camera) without native PDC

hi guys

i have USDM 328i '13MY with CIC, with big screen, AV input and proffi navi, BUT no PDC/cameras.
Installing PDC is expensive and hard to implement, but I really used to rearview camera on my previous cars.

I've bought:
1. TRCVS unit 66 53 9 393 953 (or similar 66 53 9 302 256, from f30)
2. camera module 66 53 9 240 351
3. package of camera installation 61 12 2 183 660 (wires and so on). This number is from F10, but it's good too. Original F30 is 61 12 2 154 696 i think.
4. trunk opener with place for camera 51 24 7 368 753
5. REM module 61 35 9 329 700 or 61 35 9 374 507. Important! You can use any other part number, BUT revision must be F4C or F4A (look picture below)

0. We need to read our VO to file from our stock car
1. Changing REM to needed version is taking about 10 minutes.
2. Using Genuine BMW Retrofit manual for 3-er F30х series we've mounted TRCVS unit and trunk opener with camera, mounted wires to units and to HU
3. Coding
3.1 we need to write VO from stock file to new REM
3.2 write 3AG option to our VO, then code REM, HU_NBT/HU_CIC
3.3 optional, we can code HU_CIC/NBT for some codes for legal disclaimer removal AND coding a "Trailer" function of camera:

LEGAL_DISCLAIMER_TIME kein_ld Removes iDrive Initial Disclaimer
MACRO_CAM_LEGALDISCLAIMER kein_ld Removes disclaimer for all cameras and PDC
MACRO_TRAILER _COUPLING aktiv Enabling trailer mode when camera is active

Hello spudvti, per your suggestion, I have successfully installed OEM rear view camera. Thank you for your post.

Also thank you to Nelson Louis (sr. Sales specialist- BimmerTech) for all his help. Total spent $900 (camera, control module, harness and REM. all were purchased in eBay). Key is REM should be F4C or F4A. I got F4A version. I used BimmerTech coder help to program the camera.

REM - 61359374507 Removed from 2016 M3
Camera - 66539240351 removed from 2017 bmw 330i
Camera module - 66536994555removed from 2012 535i
TRSVC harness - new

spudvti

I'm currently ordering parts for my MY14 F32 which does not have PDC but it does have comfort access. I believe I need to purchase a new REM like you did. I see many f48 versions as well as some f4B and f4D versions. Am I able use any of these or am I only able to use the two versions that you had mentioned above?

Thanks in advance for the help!

If you changed this part you also have to code it.

what needs to be changed in FEM for 3ag to work?
I don't want to use the FEM code option in e-sys so as not to lose the changes I made so far with FEM

I made VO 3AG and code for HU_NBT, REM, TRVSC

but in ISTA + I have errors

CA9428 Message (PDC function, 0x377) incorrect, reciver TRSVC, transmiter PDC / REM
CA9429 No message (reverse gear, 0x3B0), reciver TRSVC, transmiter FRM / FEM

can anyone help, please very nicely

I'm getting same error CA9428 but not CA9429. Did you ever find a fix? Using NBT Evo with aztebmw FDL codings. I did VO default code REM & TRSVC.
