Wheel and Tire Fitment
Hello! I've been browsing for my first set of wheels for months now and I just haven't been able to pull the trigger on anything out of fear that I won't like the Fitment. I'm highly considering running a square 19x8.5 with +30 offset Rotiform BUCs with 245/45 r19 tires. Does anyone have experience with this combo or have any advice for me? My main purpose for the larger diameter tires was that I wanted to fill in the wheel gap further without having to touch my suspension. Thanks!

I think 19x8.5 +30 would be fine both in the front and rear. It will have a nice flush offset. 245/45/19 will have a diameter of roughly 27.7" which will be 0.7" taller than the factory spec 225/45/19 or 255/40/19. Your speedo will be off a little as you'll be covering more ground with that size per rotation. But fitment wise don't think there will be an issue... don't see it rubbing anywhere.
What kind of tires are you considering? I also recently put a set of 19s on the car 19x8.5/9.5 +35 staggered setup. Posted a thread on these under the wheels n tires sub forum. Last edited by Torquey; 08-27-2020 at 09:53 PM.. |

The sidewall is still shorter than what's on the stock tire size. Since you already have a perfectly good set of wheels the prudent and practical move would be to put winters on those and summers on the new 19s.

Any of the GT owners that had 19s from the factory... would you mind sharing the tire PSI info from the door jamb sticker, both for front & back? Thank you.
p.s. OP hope you don't mind me "repurposing" your thread |

Not the greatest pictures I'm far from a photographer but the Fitment is great on stock ride night although I'd like to lower it an inch or so!

I posted a thread earlier this year with a similar dilemma when going from 18" to 19" rims:
https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh...1704497&page=2 Summary: I went with a 245/40 19 tire from the stock 225/50 18. The rims were the 18x8" ET34 BMW 400M and the 19x8.5" ET33 BMW 351M. No spacers, no rubbing with this setup. I'd really like to see if it's possible to run a 255 width tire in front on the 19" rims, but I don't want to be the guinea pig to buy tires. I'm very happy with this setup, ride is much better than the stock RFTs. I run 35 psi front/ 38 rear. |
