As has been said check your plugs to see if they look okay but I'd be looking at codes there because there are issues that can cause this sort of idle and they're not ideal.

Had a dusting of snow so a good excuse to fit the winter wheel setup I bought back in March from the classifieds on here.
Continental WinterContact TS 860 in standard staggered 19" sizes. The TPMS reset and working, all good.

Yep, the B58 is an amazing piece of kit. I'm still enjoying it enormously in my 440i GC with MPPSK and will do so until I pass it onto my son when my 3.5L V6 Lotus Emira FE edition arrives next year (sometime). I no longer need 4 seats so it's time to move to a two seater.
And, later on I'll welcome the Lotus into my garage. Cheers. Colin

So now it's getting cold, are we all getting winter tyres?
If so can you recommend any? I'm still on the runflats it came with, can't wait to move them on. On a trip back from Yorkshire the other day, I didn't care for the ice-ring like feeling I got from the RFTs (rwd doesn't help).

Hi All,
New (ish) 340i owner here. Bought my Estoril Blue touring a few months ago and am loving it so far. Part of the appeal was the huge tuning potential of the B58. I've changed the air filter for a pipercross replacement which actually made more difference than expected. The car feels a bit livelier so excellent bang for buck mod. I also picked up a BM3 in the sales and flashed the car with the stage 1 map, this has completely transformed the car. It has more power throughout the rev range and feels so much more responsive. The gearbox maps are also a lot better than the factory settings, Comfort changes up much earlier and uses the torque of the engine which is much nicer to drive. It's like driving a new car so really happy with that so far. I've got a VRSF sports cat ready to fit this week which will hopefully provide a bit more noise. It will also allow me to run the stage 2 map which should give a bit more power again. The sports dials are reading a lot higher than they were when the car was stock and I wondered if anyone knew how accurate these are ? Will hopefully get some pics of the car up once I work out how ... |

I forgot about the BM3 discounts! Crap!
What did you remap to? I was thinking of doing BM3 to 400bhp (if there's an option to pick a power?) if possible at stage1. No real interest in going beyond stage1.

You can't select a specific power output but there are several different maps to choose from.
Stage 1 has 2 options, a regular unleaded fuel map and a more aggressive super unleaded map. They should be around 400 to 420 so just depends whether you want to run super all the time and get the extra few horsepower. Stage 2 is designed for cars running a high flow downpipe and is worth another 25 horsepower so should push around 440. |

Didn't want a big drop at the front as I run 255 width front tyres so need some clearance.

Nice, thanks.
I was toying with B14’s and went with KW Street Comforts. It’s on an x drive F31 so I’ve not gone as low as you, but have the same spacers, stock 19 403M’s, and it looks and rides great but doesn’t have the presence and stance of yours 👌🏼 👌🏼 👌🏼 Very nice |
