Hey Lorcan
I'm definitely up for getting the shocks. I've been thinking about it for a while. I have the springs already. I've got 335d touring 2017with the eco comfort sports options. I'm in Bristol towards Bath, whats the free fitting options near me? |

Stourbridge would be the nearest at the moment.

would be good if people can put in their real life reviews once they have had their test drive!
also how does combining ACS springs to ACS dampers compare to Blistein Coilover kit? is Dampers and springs essentially a ACS coilover kit then? below is the ACS springs I put on - is this the latest version for the F36 430d x drive? (i heard there were different versions etc) Last edited by devil84; 11-26-2018 at 02:18 PM.. |

The AC Schnitzer sports kit is non-adjustable, coilovers are usually adjustable in some way for ride height and damping. Having adjustability can be useful, if you do track days for example, but it also presents 100 ways to get it wrong. A decent non-adjustable sports setup (springs and dampers) is all that is needed for 9/10 people. I have Bilstein B8 dampers on my own car (not a BMW) and they are *stiff*. AC Schnitzer suspension is always tuned with comfort in mind. |

Thanks Lorcan.
I find the oem adaptive suspension with oem springs very comfortable. Only problem was the height of the car!! So changing the springs was a must. However when I changed the springs alone I felt the car did not handle bump and cracks as well. Do you think getting this damper set will return me to oem state with good handling but also good ride height. Also will this make the handling even better Ps I am trying to book myself on a test drive |

The short answer is yes (but it will be far better than it ever was stock).
The long answer is when you fit a shorter, stiffer, spring it sorts out the ride height issue and reduces body roll and forward/back pitching on the brakes and under acceleration. Great. However, a stiffer spring not only takes more energy to compress, it also releases more energy on rebound, and if the damper is not up to the job of controlling the rebounding spring this can make the car feel unsettled over bumps, as you say. The F36 seems to be particularly susceptible to this but ultimately poor damper control affects all the 3 and 4 series, and the only solution is to fit a higher quality sports damper with better control that matches the springs. Of course, this is a chunkier investment than a spring kit alone but there is no other way around it. A test drive of our demo car will reveal all. |

Is the price difference between passive and adaptive purley due to the edc delete modules. Could people just get adaptive coded out instead. Would this have the same effect? |

I managed a test drive of the ACS 335d this morning and what a difference.
Sadly didn't get time to test it on a dual carriageway or motorway but on proper roads. It is so much more refined and absorbs the bumps well. It's FAR more comfortable and gives much more confidence to push on. Waiting to hear back from Ben to get a date to get them fitted. Thanks Lorcan for making the demo car available. Put my mind at rest and leaves me with no doubt that the dampers are worth the investment. Out of interest, has the 335xd demo got the ACS tuning box on it? |

Great stuff. I only ask as Ben was worried the demand for them had picked right up and may have to wait for stock. Now I've driven the demo car (and had the OK from the wife) I'm eager to get the shocks installed ASAP

We get a delivery every 2 weeks from Germany anyway so even if we run out we don't usually have to wait much longer than that.
We're going to run this offer until the end of March 2019 |
