Will post some photos and a detailed write-up this weekend. Overall pleased with the system, think it's the best reasonable solution for DIY that doesn't require going through the firewall. Gripes mainly BMW-related, e.g. had to run a wire back to the trunk for fuse box power. Running the wires for the heads was a bit of a hassle, not dissimilar from changing grilles. Removed bolts on top of bumper, and side as well in the wheel well, then pulled it out enough to get my hand back there. Beyond that it's really just plug everything in and zip tie things down. My biggest headache was updating my Max 360 firmware, finally disabled my home firewall and it was no problem after that.
One big complaint to Escort - the heads themselves have warning labels printed on them. Similar to sun visors, big yellow disclaimer language. I had to remove them with goof off, burned through the finish in one spot that required flat black touch up. The label reflected off the bottom of the bumper and looked really bad, it's OK now. Nice surprise - they recently added JTK! You can pick a few different times but I have 4-second auto off then 30 second auto rearm.

Finished the 2TB retrofit including wiring the car for paddles, retrofitting and coding paddles (July 2020), installing the sport auto gear selector (August 2020), and coding 2TB with e-sys (March 2018). It looks and feels great and is a blast to drive in Manual mode. I'll post pictures later this week.
Also installed the larger iDrive controller in place of the smaller one. |

How do you like it? I've mostly read mixed and some negative reviews. I'll most probably go with xHP once I go stage 2. Also wondering if bm3 copies coding every time prior to flash and then applies it once flash is successful, in case you code stuff between flashes.

Yes, the paddle wiring and retrofit was a fair amount of work, but it would have gone a lot faster if I removed the airbag via accessing the clips in the rear, from the start. I also stitch-wrapped my wheel before re-installing it which was a 4 hour job. So glad it's all done. |

So I had 2tb coded on my car via bimmercode and when I tried to do the bm3 transmission flash it would not work. I had to code back to stock, bm3 flash the trans, then code 2tb again. I confirmed with pro tuning freaks that that was the correct procedure and they agreed. Do I like it? Yes I do. Compared to my stock 8 speed it was improved, but not as good as SAT felt. Once I recoded SAT, and had already added the bm3 flash, I did feel a pleasing difference between my previous SAT coding. My girl goes on a lot if rides with me and she said "OH!" when the turbo hit and the transmission grabbed haha. Am I ultimately faster? Don't know, but it feels like it. FMIC and downpipe here I come.

Well 66k miles and car overheated badly. Guessing it’s the water pump? Waiting on a tow.
-- No leaks, but after waiting two hours for a tow, the car said coolant low when I started it to drive it onto the flatbed. -- Last edited by chowser51; 08-11-2020 at 07:37 PM.. |

Finally got around to changing my gross door handle. Those Germans sure know how to make something simple overly complicated for no apparent reason.

I’ve seen people in hotter climates have the issue. A pair is like $50 off Amazon. Mine still looks okay but I might order a pair to have on hand. My passenger side one has alot of dog claw marks.

Heat, dirt, and what I consider poor craftsmanship. That's rubber. The new one is hard plastic so I shouldn't have this issue. $25 a piece on Amazon as mentioned above.

Light cleaning and "installed" cf gear selector trim.
Here are old and new photos, before and after paddles retrofit, wheel wrap, sport auto gear selector, and larger iDrive controller. Definitely more fun to drive now, especially in manual mode. The larger iDrive controller feels nicer and fills out the space better than the original. |

Fun install, isn't it? What a pain! Definitely worth the effort though, the hard plastic is a welcome change from the rubbery pulls. Another option is to leather wrap them.

Got hold of some 340i calipers that i painted and ordered some braided steel brake lines, rotors and pads for them!
Bonus: I also wrapped my steering wheel!
