How did you trim the diffuser? DId you have to removed first?

You have to take the diffuser out that cut it with a cutting tool. I used Dremel disc to cut it.

You could always get a eBay diffuser for cheap

Just so everyone knows, this is not a cut and clamp on sort of thing. Custom fab/welding work needs to be done to the piping to make this fit. Yes, it does fit in the hangers perfectly though. I tried this with an M235i M Performance exhaust and realized the piping is different.

Just picked up a m2 stock exhaust cut from the resonator back. Taking it to the muffler shop tomorrow morning to see if and how this could work?! Currently have a painted m-diffuser on but will replace it with my stock diffuser for the time being. Im confident the m2 exhaust will weld up fine and some cutting of the stock diffuser will be trimmed BUT my main concern is cutting the M-diffuser since it has curves and contours which might not look right at all if i decide to trim it!!!!!

Wish me luck and i'll update once i know more tomorrow!

White plastic piece behind the valance

I bought a M2 muffler to do this mod but ran into something I wasn't expecting.

I pulled the lower grey valance thinking I would just trim it and be all ready to have the muffler swapped out but when I removed the valance there is this white plastic piece with wires attached. Does anyone know what it is? Along the bottom of the white piece there is a flexible black tube with a wire attached and along the upper portion is a flat black strip with a wire attached. On the left side is a terminal block. Can I trim the white piece and just tuck the wires in back? HELP
