LED DRL Brightness Adjustment

Yeah, finally coded the DRL on my Japanese version

The lights are extremely bright though.

I tried all options in TFL_MODUS from off to Tfl_s but no effect on the brightness... Any idea ?

These affect the Halo Brightness with the headlights on, but you can check and see if they also affect the DRL Brightness:

MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_PWM_LEVEL_1
MAPPING_STANDL_V_r_PWM_LEVEL_1
MAPPING_PARKL_V_L_PWM_1_LEFT
MAPPING_PARKL_V_L_PWM_2_RIGHT

does a value behind "PWM_LEVEL" adjust the brightness or is it just PWM on and off?
Could parking light "Standlicht" set to DRL brightness level or won't it dim then, when lowbeam is on?

Yes it does adjust the level.
Please have a look at my cheat sheet.

So just to confirm:

MAPPING_STANDL_V_L_PWM_LEVEL_1
MAPPING_STANDL_V_r_PWM_LEVEL_1

controls the Halo brightness while the headlights are on, correct ? They usually dim out once the headlight is turned on for the F30s in the US.

thanks for the sheet.

Why is there Standlicht left and right - Standlicht should be all parking lights on, I thought. Parklicht is parking lights on one side only. Btw. how do you name these two modes in English?

Are the more values related to this functions?

I would like to disable the automatic DLR and turn it on and off with the light switch.
Could the DLR be assigned to parking light; position =|) (|=
But they should dim again when lowbeam is on //D

Nice drawing

Not sure why, but the module allows you to control each bulb individually hence L/R.

Just try to play with the codes to see how it impacts the brightness. Note that on a Japanese blog, a guy was pointing out that the brightness of his LED were changing whether the car was stopped or moving !

Unfortunately I have no coding equipment (and no F30 or F32 - will be my next car).
I recently noticed that the F30's DRL doesn't include the taillights anymore. Did you activate them as well?

Referring to your sheet there is a DRL option in iDrive - can it be accessed easily (shortcuts?) - sorry I hope this is not too much off topic.

No I haven't but I know you can.

Yes the shortcut can easily be accessed Menu > Settings > Light if I recall correctly.

I changed mine to the highest setting - 13.7v which works perfectly fine. Angel Eyes stay on full brightness with the headlights on.

I found something interesting looking around REM ......some lamp mapping settings is fixed by voltage..13.7 werte 89-13.5 werte 87-13.4 werte 86...
13.7V=137
13.5V=135
13.4V=134

maybe we need to code DRL voltage settings by that way???

LEDs are very heat sensitive, I wouldn't set them to full brightness when headlights are on. Insufficient cooled LEDs will lose brightness and shift to red color, quite apart from the fact that they will degrade much faster.

I have played with these settings, but cannot get the configuration either.

The Side beams still are low brightness. Have you had any luck with this?

My cousin has a Audi q5 2013. when he coded his , he was able to change the % of brightness from their stock 20% to now 50%. They completely changed the look for the better...now is this possible with the BMW, i love the look of stock, but i recently changed my HID D1S bulbs to 8K and now you can see the difference in my halos. If it is possible to make the halos a little brighter to give it that same effect....

The codes prevent the car from performing checks on aftermarket LED replacement bulbs for the turn signals. When these checks are performed, during startup and every few minutes after, the turn signals blink even when they are not engaged.

Interesting. Anyone has experienced degradation yet?
