The dumbest problem i've run into

Solved
Pulled off my negative terminal to remove my airbag. After job was finished I came to reinstall the negative terminal. Bolt simply wont spin and only wants to hit this metal. Someone tell me i'm making some dumb obvious mistake lol.

Any ideas as to what could have happened. It came off smooth just like everytime...

@Rick.Null thats bit irrelevant, no? Why even bother with comment.

The square side of the bolt suppose to hit the metal so you will only need to undo the nut and not worry about holding the other side too.

Use pliers to hold square side (so you dont round it up against negative bracket ) and spanner to undo the nut might need to use some force. My thinking the nut jumped a thrread (try banging on it maybe it will go in the grove. Worst come to worst if bolt dont come off hacksaw it off and replace the nut and bolt.

Don't see the problem....the bolt side is supposed to hit the metal flange to prevent it from turning so that the nut can be threaded. And yes, please cut your nails....

Yeah but when I attempt to spin it with tools it simply clicks when the metal square trys to turn with it. almost like the whole nut is turning everything in unison.

So I tried what sertan said, couldnt wait lol. It instantly began to thread correctly almost like it was sitting at an angle previously. Appreciate the responses and I can now focus on more important things like cutting my nails. Thanks guys

People still disconnect the battery to remove the airbag? I just let the car go to sleep and make sure I don't wake it while the airbag is out....

People definitely still disconnect the battery, IMO it takes a minute to remove the battery (unless you're me) but it would be a PITA if I got the airbag light
