I have since purchased the B12 5-22 kit with the B8s and 35mm/25mm springs but I am leaning heavily on the Michelin PS4Ss as replacements since I have a winter setup. |

Here it is with the new Eibach springs and Akebono pads installed. Took a lot longer than expected, but learned a lot about my car.
Glad I went with the RWD 2-22 set vs the ACS or x drive 5/6-22. Waiting for a chance to test it out. Initial impressions is it's definitely a lot firmer than x drive OEM! (I kept the M adaptive shocks and struts) Now it looks and feels more go-kart like. I was really surprised the Akebonos started biting right away, no break in runs required like other pads I've had in the past. Feel is very good as well, at least as good as stock when cold. Zero noise. Time will tell how much dust they'll throw off. |

Hi,
Not required. I also changed the dampers to Bilstein B8, but even if you use OE dampers and just changed the springs, no other bumpstops are required as there plenty of clearance left. Rear dampers=reuse OE bumpstops Front Dampers they have their own built in bumpstop due to upside down technology shock. All installed as per Bilstein instructions. No bottoming out are any other issues so far. |

I guess its a personal preference on what bump stops you want to have installed and how low you want to go. I was happy with the originals one simple cause they still provide some clearance, but in the worst case should the car bottom out( which it hasnt yet) they will provide more protection, as in they'll stop the struts from compressing even lower. One thing I do regret! And nobody really thinks of it unless you already done the mod. We all like this low rider look( it looks great tho) but it comes with a price! I also have a front Mperformance splitter which is now compromised as I have to really crawl over the speed bumps in order not to scratch it. Thats my only downside |

I see you went with the E10-20-031-02-22 springs. For the same part number, Eibach claims 1.6/1.4" front/rear drop for 335 RWD and 1.0/0.6" drop for 340 RWD. That's a huge difference. Do you think your car lowered 1.6" in the front and 1.4" in the rear? It definitely looks more than .6" drop in the rear.
johnung, do you think these numbers are correct in terms of big difference in drop between 335i and 340i for the same springs when both cars apparently have the same ground clearance in their stock form? Last edited by thatBimmerBloke; 01-23-2020 at 09:58 PM.. |

The drops for the 335 RWD seem to be incorrect. I saw in Eibach website for 335i RWD front drop of 1.4" and rear drop on 1.6" That would mean a difference between RWD 335 and RWD 340 in front of 0.4" and rear of 1.0". I'm not sure at all how to interpret those numbers. |

I'm surprised by such a big difference between 335 RWD and 340 RWD lowering for the same springs. As B14 uses the same parts for both 335ix and 435ix I don't think 435ix lowering will be same as 335ix, could be a big difference |

I used 05-22 kit initially, then changed to 06-22 set up later which is slightly higher. These were the part numbers for XDrive which my car is. Too low looks nice, but as people forget an absolute pain to drive around. |

The only difference on those two kits is the front axle loading. One sits slightly lower then other. Apart from that, they are identical and listed under all of the above vehicles. Photo below here is with the later 06-22 kit and higher axle loading. |

Looking at dropping my 15 335i xdrive and from the pictures I prefer the E10-20-031-02-22 drop more. I do not want to sacrifice too much in ride quality and want to keep it as comfortable as possible.
What shocks/struts are folks pairing up with this rwd drop to make it comfortable? From the thread it sounds like the Koni FSD is not made for the rwd drop and the b8/b6 sound like they are stiff? Are there any folks with the E10-20-031-02-22 non edc that can give me feedback on how their cars rode after the drop and what shocks/struts they used? Thanks! |
