DONE * New Pics * BUILD: F30 LCI to F80 LCI M3 Conversion with OEM Parts
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com I'm pretty much done with my LCI, it came to here, 1st Step: Final Outcome: Came here from a no line car You may see all the details in of interior & exterior mods: CLICK 2016 F30 LCI - PROJECT Thread Now its pretty done I guess Since its a brand new, 3 months old car, I will not sell it & change it. Hımmm I think I'm going to CHANGE it instead! --------------------------------------------------- I have done 2 other projects in the past; * 2006 Audi S3 Sportback ===> 2013 RS3 ( w/widebody rear ) From here; To there; * And Insignia ( Buick for USA ) OPC Sports Tourer From here; To There; ------------------ NOW - Time for the M3 conversion Please save your words "Why not buy an M3", the answer is; my LCI worths 49K US$ and an M3 worths 199K US$.. So this is why I do not JUST buy an m3, I can not do it! Since we clear that, these are the; PARTS & MODS LIST: 1-) OEM M3 front bumper 2-) OEM M3 rear bumper 3-) OEM M3 front fenders 4-) OEM M3 fender vents - BOUGHT 5-) OEM M3 trunk spoiler - BOUGHT 6-) OEM M3 hood 7-) M3 rear calipers & rotors 8-) M3 370mm rotors ( not an essence right now ) 9-) OEM M3 chrome grill - BOUGHT 10-) OEM M3 side skirts - BOUGHT 11-) OEM M3 front fender grilles - BOUGHT 12-) Akrapovic tips 13-) M sport / M3 seats ( both will be okay for me ) 14-) window tints 15-) OEM M3 shifter 16-) Rear fenders: I'm not sure if I should buy the quarter and mold it and ruin the rear quarter of a brand new car? I may do only the fender mod like I have done on my RS3 conversion, flowing with the M3 bumper. So in that case, there will be only local paint job on the rear fenders, not the whole quarters! 17-) OEM M3 left mirror - ( hurt! so expensive! ) - BOUGHT 18-) Today I noticed that I will need the M3 headlights I : confused2 I have a few questions, I'd be very glad if some gurus can answer; 1-) The hood job, I remember an F31 has done it, with some mods but I could not find the post. If OP would anser me, i'll be very appreciate 2-) Do I really need the headlight of F80? Or I can only modify the OEM from bumper to fit my own F30 leds? As far as I know, the hood and bumpers will be a direct fit, so in that case, the bumper could not be modified for the curent headlight set? 3-) Do I have to change the rear doors? AS far as I can see, I do not have to but, I do not want a last minute call! 4-) If I really have to change the LCI Led headlights into F80 leds; will it work only by coding? 5-) Will the M3 mirror electrical controls & heating will work directly? Dante made this mod, I'm expecting help I do not PM him since I want that topic will be a guide and share all the problems & solutions in public I'm also inviting 325MBKK & minien I'm very welcome or any helps, taughts, suggestions, criticisms, even tiny one in order to make this project successfull Please chime in and give your opinions & knowledges! Cheers

chaungo I would not quote all the pictures , could you please delete it
Thnks a lot, it will take some time. It seems its going to cost like 10-12K dollars which saves my 130K$ between the replica & OEM M3

The F80 uses the same headlights as the 4 series, the bumper is meant to fit coupe headlights, so yes you need them. If it makes you feel better you can probably sell your LCI headlight for a pretty penny to someone on the forums.

Yes you can (and should) get the full LED headlights. When you are looking the headlights Fit the F32, F33, F80, F82, F83, so look for LED headlights that fit any of those models and you will be fine.

Plus you seem super rich, you're gonna want the LED's. Here in the US a complete headlight (with all modules) can be had around 1k: http://www.ebay.com/itm/14-15-BMW-F3...1V3IkZ&vxp=mtr That one just needs a gasket for that one piece and its good to go.

For me, the F80 mirrors really were an easy mod. Since my car already had the dimming/folding option my F80 mirrors had, it was just plug'n'play. Only the foam seal between mirror and body had to be changed. More info about that here: Retrofit F80 M3 door mirrors Now, if your car doesn't have the dimming/folding option from factory or at least electric seats, but your new F80 mirrors do, your car needs to be retrofitted with the door wiring harness, new door mirror switch, a fuse, some wires and coding. As this is not my area of expertise, I can't really say much more about that. But I'm sure there is a thread here somewhere about retrofitting the dimming/folding option. Oh and most importantly: F30/31 3-series needs F80 M3 mirrors! F82/83 M4 mirrors will only work on 4-series! Also, if your car is LHD, make sure you get LHD mirrors!

But there was no time since the auction was about to finish. So ı pulled the trigger and bought the one with surround view for 350 $ including shipping to turkey İ do not want to dimming and folding option, it will be enough just calibrate it with the current Switch set. I think this will be easier than the other side? PS loved ur wagon! |
