That looks very high in my opinion. Why plugs at 40k? and whats a basic package? Dual micro filters maybe $100. Oil and filter max $150

Wow! That’s high! Any dealer service will be high. They didn’t recommend any of that on my 50k service which was just an oil change for $80 (I had a coupon). They saw I changed my filters and they recommended rear brakes but I told them I already ordered parts to do it myself.

Find an independent shop to do it from now on or start learning how to do stuff on your own. It ends up cheaper and you become more familiar with your car.

You definitely got ripped off but honestly... don't take it personally. Just use it as a learning experience. Plan to DIY simple items in the future and start looking for an independent mechanic now for when something big comes up.

What dealer performed that service? Would help the board to know who to avoid in the future.

Always call and ask other deanship if you have any other near by. I called (A) dealership then called (B), and wow B was so much cheaper. Maybe because B is my to go service center .

Why are you paying for it? Any recommend service is usually covered if you're under 50k miles.

Is that BMW of Concord? Well, either that or one of the other bay area dealers where labor rates are about $250/hr.

As others have said, the keys to modern day BMW ownership outside of warranty are DIY or find a good indy. Dealer should be used as a last re$ort.

I would have never accepted a bill like that. With no breakdown of what things cost. Did you get an actual breakdown? How about showing that.

I use to tell my sister....go get your car service...ONLY OIL CHANGE.... anything else tell them to give you a quote and bring it back home. Let see the schedule maintenance booklet if it is listed there.😏

Ur receipt is too cryptic without breakdown of price for each service. Also it states that u are experiencing brake pulsating....did they change the front pads/rotors? If Yes, then price is very reasonable, if no, then seems very high.

Silicon Valley most expensive place ever. EVER. Ever. Ever.

Allow me to breakdown

Oil change. 300
Air filter. 100
Plugs. 500

I figured they didn't charge you to diagnose the rear brakes and that the tire pressure check was complementary.

Great advice. I'm always amazed by the services dealerships try to work in which are no where in the service schedule for a car. I realize they are a buisness which needs to make money, but making their own profit centers look like manufacturer recomended service is seriously shady.
