Minor scratches/scuffs

Could these pass as damage from stones near the front end?

Only reason I ask is that the car went back in to a dealership for a full valet after coming out in a condition I didn’t like previously, noticing some hairline scratch marks that didn’t exist.

Fast forward today on arriving home..

These 100% were not there on hand over

Sorry to see that, eye magnets, if you have a good local detailed/valeter nearby, let him sort it and invoice the dealer, after agreement of course.

NEVER EVER let the dealership wash your car, an almost impossible task but after 3 years of me asking , begging, pleading and finally telling, them not to wash my car. No more phantom swirls, scratches or hand prints.

these are not stone marks. Something has run along the car.

Similar to my car, marks appeared just a few days after handover (independent dealership). I'm sure they covered them with polish or the like, you just have to trust that dealerships don't do this kind of thing unfortunately.

A quick go with a DA polisher and a medium pad will get most of that out would take 2-3 minutes, bottom bits looks a little deeper so might not come out though.

Looks like they have used polish with fillers. Temp cosmetic cover up. Needs to be properly polished and buffed.

Yes I was thinking that or they have been using a drying blade with a hard plastic handle that has caught it.

They literally do not give two shits about damaging customer cars.

The bottom scratches look like they'll be hard to remove completely, but the ones higher up should easily polish out.

Pour water over them - if the scratches disappear then they will polish out. If they don't.....I'm sure you can guess!

Full valet in a dealership sounds amazing but reality is it means some guy that doesn't know the first thing about washing cars properly ( two bucket method, grit guards, pre rinse, snow foam, proper drying ) has done it.

He will have used one bucket with a sponge that's been dropped on the floor etc.

The only person that washes my car is me!!

I dropped my car off at the dealers for a service today and I've just remembered that I didn't tell them not to wash it...I spent 2-3 days machine polishing all the swirls and holograms out of it, it'll be ruined!

I've bought one of those placards that you can hang off the mirror saying DO NOT WASH THIS CAR!!

I made one that fits over the airbag, so you really can't miss it.

I printed 2 A4 sheets, BOLD font, red and underlined, left on the dash and rear parcel shelf. Yup, it was washed. They now have do not wash on my profile. I cannot understand it, it will cost them money. This time when they have my car for 5 days to rectify the rectified speaker rattle, I will ensure that they do not wash my car, if they do, they can pay my £700.00 detailing bill!!

Failing that, I will ask them not to give me a free service.

I requested no wash, it was put on the work order sheet and highlighted in marker. Yes they still washed it and the service guy didn't understand my annoyance. I had to re wash it the next day as it was still covered in dirt and water marks.

Picked it up last night today in the sunshine I can see it's covered in light swirls everywhere.

My fault but I'm fucked off.

Shame.

It is not your fault, if they are incompetent enough to leave swirls, they should not touch it.

I appreciate that they are trying to please but, if your car was returned with kernes whelks it wouldn't be your fault because you hadn't asked them not to.

Personally, I would have no hesitation in asking their opinion, if they agree that the damage is down to their wash bay, ask them to pay, or at least make a substantial contribution to a professional polish. They can only say no.

It's annoying because recently I've been getting really limited time in the car and all that is on my mind have been the previous problems (mostly fixed where not my fault), now not long after repairing the bumper this pops up and bluetooth regularly showing no entries on scrolling for the next song, but clicking next using the idrive controller works...

Don't like that I'm constantly back and forth between the dealer and it is definitely retracting from the experience of owning said car.

More to the point, apparently there isn't anything on the system to prevent car washes in the future, so I'll have to make a fuss every time I drop it off now... Stupid, plain stupid.
