Shop to Bench Unlock DME in Atlanta

Going to be in ATL on Saturday and looking for a place that 1) is open on a Saturday and 2) can unlock my DME for tuning.

I've called DBW Motorsports in Norcross, and they can tune BM3 but don't have capabilities to bench unlock.

I know it's a long shot, but I'd rather try this before I remove my DME and mail it to someone.

Go to eurofed in Buckhead. Just got mine bench unlocked for $475 about 2 weeks ago. It might take the whole work day but the car just stays at their shop and they do everything for you. Call them ahead of time though. You have to make an appointment for the bench unlock.

They're closed on Saturday, but I still reached out and they were kind enough to see if anyone wanted to come up on Saturday at a "premium rate." Unfortunately no takers hah but would definitely take my car there in the future.

Why do you need to bench unlock the dme? Bootmod3 does this when tuning?

BMW came out with a software update I believe in 2020 which made it extremely difficult to flash tune for my car. My car got this update, so if/when I try to flash it fails 100% of the time.

PTF confirmed that I do have a locked Dme and actually bm3's software told me before I even tried to initially flash I just figured I'd try anyways. BM3 has a "force flash" tool (not sure what it does) but it doesn't unlock your dme

Only work around is to bench unlock, and there's few people that actually do this meaning there no chance in hell someone in Alabama can do it.

Maybe one of the Solo Motorsports locations can help. There's a few around atl, and a few eurofed locations as well. I think eurofed snellville is open on sat

Just want to piggyback on this discussion. I’ll be moving to Atlanta in 2 months. Any reputable shops that provide custom tuning along with a dyno?

There’s a shop 50 miles from me that does amazing work and they will do pre and post dyne runs. I’m debating to go local to get my DME unlocked (2020 M340i) and tuned, but then lose out on future tweaks.

Have you checked with Dinan? Their HQ is in Opelika. They unlock DMEs for their own BMW flash tunes. I don't see why they couldn't do a bench unlock for you without having to buy a tune from them.
