Shockingly I passed Maryland emissions during covid with a vrsf catless downpipe on a bm3 stage 2 e30 ots. Tried that again in October but I failed. Emissions retest is free so I thought I'd try out the stock map hex code method. I put back on the stock intake as well just in case. Still failed due to P00BD: Mass or Volume Air Flow A Circuit Range/Performance - Air Flow Too high.

Tests cost $10 so I would rather try and pass before removing mods. It must be the er charge pipe or vrsf intercooler throwing the code. My plan for the 2nd retest is to add P00BD or its hex equivalent to the block list and try again.

Does anyone know if adding P00BD to the block list will work to block the code or do I need to convert it to a specific hex code?

Switch to bone stock map then enter these codes:
180001
180101
118001
118401
118002
118402
12AF20

I drove about 100 miles over a few days and then checked the readiness and was good to go.

I used this method back in June 2024 to pass Illinois emissions
Just an FYI, dont try this in Massachusetts. Apparently their software can detect DTC Deactivation and you will be flagged by the state. Not only will you fail inspection and get a rejection sticker, but you will be forced to visit a BMW dealer to flash the car back to stock $400 (ISTEP) and bring the BMW receipt to a MA state garage who will fax the receipt to the state to release your car from flagged state. MA state garage will also inspect your car to ensure readiness monitors etc. Once the state receives your BMW receipt and clears the flag on your car in the system you will then finally be able to go back to a normal station for a reinspect... And now your DME is locked again...

The state is aware of this saying thousands of BMWs get flagged. Dont give them the chance to play games with you.

Two separate issues. A spacer doesnt have anything to do with being flagged for software.

Spacers are only used in an attempt to get the monitor ready (i.e., it is not disabled by software). And not sure what you mean by "still", but FYI you also shouldnt leave any spacer installed.
