Andream MMI Box - Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

Went for two long drives today. The first drive the andream box was absolutely fine using Waze and Spotify. The second trip, about 40 mins in, everything started to lag massively to the point it became unusable. The album art wouldnt load, skip a song / launch siri was lagging behind by a minute or so and the navigation in waze was jerking forward every 5 seconds or so at about 1fps.

After staying like this for about 20 mins, it then returned to normal for the last part of the trip.

Anyone had this before on latest software and MCU? (wireless carplay iPhone XR on a wireless charger in the armrest)

Love the way everyone is queuing up to brick there units now.

Remember guys, this isn't a soft brick like when you put an invalid update on. This is fully bricking the unit now, until we can find a way to dump a working nand and reflash a non working unit with it.

Could you refresh his nand remote? Similarly how coding was done in the past?

check your phone itself, when my iphone gets hot (on the seat in the sun) carplay gets slow and wonky. not sure how hot your phone is getting on the charger

Damn that is indeed good news and also bad.

So the flash doesnt work now because previously you broke it? Would it work on someone else's working unit?

That did occur to me actually. Today was very hot, and wireless charging makes it get even hotter! Maybe it overheated which explains why it was fine on the same trip at 7 am this morning.

It literally slowed down to a non working state but i didnt check the phone at the time as it was in the armrest...will see what its like as weather gets cooler

The flash itself works fine. I could boot it and use it. Except that AA and Carplay are disabled due to the 'Invalid key'.
It should work on someone else's unit, yes. I'm confident that it works (the flash script is exactly the same), but we won't know unless someone crazy enough to risk a brick tries it

If it should be fine now, I am willing to take one for the team. (I have Carlinkit with latest MCU)

But the you killed your unit before you made this working bootable one right? So its a 50/50 chance....

Hit me with it. I'm not far from dkeruza, so if it does brick I could always drive over and see if he can figure out how to unbrick (as long as he's okay with that ofc)

I noticed that the nand erase nand bad line is in the original scripts. Were you able to determine exactly what caused the brick?

I would offer to try it, but.........

I don't have an android phone, so even if the unit works I won't know if the update fixed anything.

I think it's 2 separate things. He killed his unit in terms of getting AA or Carplay to work. But the bin itself is flashable and he is able to get it to boot fine.

Yea thats my question though, was the bootable bin the one that killed the unit or not, if it was before i dont mind trying

No, it was one of the first bins that bricked his unit and resulted in just a black screen based on earlier posts.
