nope, it only does on the phone, not on MMI.

So this concludes that we have to work more with the DPI settings, decreasing it slightly in the 720p mode.

Yes, but that was clear from the start, at least to me
I just replicated what Bimmertech did in their latest firmware, i.e. just increase to resolution without changing anything else.
Think of it as having a 24" monitor with a 4k resolution but without any UI scaling. Awesome resolution but essentially impossible to use.

It's my full intention to change the other values, too (and experiment with).
I had Android Auto briefly running on my old 10.25" Android display with HeadUnit Reloaded. It also had 1280x480 and the widescreen setup and everything was scaled as you'd expect it, so it's definitely possible.

Perhaps it's even 480p but with a higher DPI (e.g. 220) instead of 720p with a lower one.

Question: I have Carlinkit and it works great but...

When I start the car it auto connects and switches to carplay but I dont get and sound. I go into the MMI menu and disconnect my phone and reconnect the phone and boom I get audio. Other option is I turn the MMI off then back on and boom sound starts...

Anyone see anything like this? The same thing happens if it wireless or USB. I have AUX selected and no audio at start, then I complete a reconnect or restart and audio works great..

BMW Cockpit Live Professional: 12.3" display at 1920 x 720, 5.1" display on the cluster

got my andream box yesterday and installed today. test install everything went well, even call didnt have an echo

couple questions.

1. i had to remove my glove box to fit the andream box, can i test the unit once again before reassembling glovebox? airbag cable still connected, but everything else in glove box is disconnected. Edit: ok did it to test , no error codes since airbag was cable was still connected

2. i was able to get wireless carplay to work but didnt get wired to work, any additional settings i need to set to enable wired mode?

3. current unit has the following firmware , worth upgrading to latest? i see slightly sluggishness in MMI main menu

4. no echo during my call test but my friend said my voice sounded really low volume, already used this guy's setting found in earlier thread and still the same result, anyone got other recommended mic settings?

edit: ok tested with another friend, call seems to be ok now, weird, only difference is when i first test assembled the unit and did a call test, i think my door was open maybe that was the difference

I’m not sure how to force mine to use wired, the first time I plugged a phone in it asked if I wanted to use wireless and I said yes.

Same on my wife’s phone, I plugged it in and it did the same.

The only way I can tell if it’s using wired or wireless is that wireless shows the battery icon on the CarPlay screen, wired doesn’t.

yea thats weird, after a bt reset, i paired it again but it wont auto connect wirelessly, but when i plug it in , it works lol , very weird

edit: ok so if u have wifi enabled and wireless gets to it first then it will connect wireless carplay first, i personally prefer just use wired so i m not setting up wifi for carplay and just always use wired mode. dont know if there's a way to force it to use wired mode even with wireless profile set up

I thought I'd be the same and want to use it wired, but really the wireless works so well that I'm more than happy with wireless. I can't find a way to force wired, ever since my phone asked me if I wanted to use wireless I've not seen any other mention of a setting for it anywhere.

Maybe if you turn Bluetooth off and go into Settings-> General-> CarPlay , it may ask you to turn on Bluetooth to use wireless CarPlay or just use USB.

The socket is the problem, so they said (eventually) after me refusing to pay more than the cost of the cable to return the faulty one, that they will send me a replacement (but 3 times they have promised tracking number and so far nothing).

Did you order the usb cable and the switch or just the cable? i got both and it works for me.
