Nope, same interface, just bug fixes, in addition to what I mentioned. Don't know when the new interface will be released. Maybe next time.

I’ve got exactly the same unit from DroidUK with the same versions as you and I’m not seeing these issues. Have you tried a reboot of the phone?

While listening to TuneIn / iHeart or any music source things will work for a few minutes and then the music will get choppy and the screen will go black. Sometimes the music will keep playing (while the screen is black), others it will stop completely and the screen will stay black. After a few minutes (sometimes) I will see the airplay menu. Other times I have to hold down the button to reboot the box.

I also find if I am on the map screen, where I see the map, music, and calendar all in one things things for sure will crash faster than if I am on the music screen itself.

I see lots of potential for the product and I am hoping that I simply need a upgrade ? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm running Android Auto with the iDrive knob that only goes left and right, not up and down. I've been switching songs in my playlist while running Google Maps by pressing the previous / next buttons on the bottom taskbar onscreen with the knob. The only way I can get back up to Maps from there is by backing out to the apps screen and going back into Maps. Is there any other way to do this? And is there any way to change previous / next songs on the steering wheel while playing through an AA app?

I've also noticed if I run CarPlay, pressing the physical "Menu" button takes me to the main menu of CarPlay but on Android Auto, pressing it takes me to the MMI menu rather than the AA main menu. Is there a setting or anything that I can change so AA acts the same as CarPlay? I have a Carlinkit box.

I am not sure I understand your iDrive knob, I thought they all worked the same way.

My knob has an outer ring that spins, and can be moved in four directions (N,S,E,W), as well as pressed. I move my iDrive either east or west to move between the menu on the left, the big map area in the middle, and the music on the right. While inside of any of those the sections, I spin the outer ring and press down to make a selection.

So if the maps is active in the middle I'd move the knob to the east/right, and then spin the wheel between the music's cover art, previous, pause/play, and next song, then press down on the iDrive depending on what I wanted. Then I'd move the iDrive knob to the west/left to select the map again.

I also press the back button to quickly get back to the left pane if I wanted to switch apps or read an alert. My steering wheel also has a spinner I use, works the same as the iDrive outer ring.

I have never messed with the MMI's settings, but my RoadTop definitely has some options concerning the steering wheel buttons and iDrive, so maybe there is something in yours as well that might help.

Question, did you guys know that, depending on the music app that you use, you are able to go to the next track by utilizing the forward and backward buttons on the CD drive at any time? I personally use "YouTube" music along with Android Auto and I am able to cycle my current Playlist, forwards and backwards. I used to use "Pandora" but you could only skip (forward) through 10 songs, per hour. But that would reset every hour. No need to use the IDRIVE wheel unless cycling different Playlist. Saying OK Google, next song or skip song or previous song, works too..but that might be program specific, works with YouTube music though...Just saying. You can also say, thumbs up or down after OK Google, to add or subtract any current playing songs to you current Playlist. Another one after you say "OK Google" you can try open maps, or display YouTube music, or any other, secondary app, while the maps, are the secondary app, saying display maps, makes it primary.
Oh yeah, if you spin the IDRIVE wheel in a circle, when the whole section is highlighted, if you press the iDrive’s wheel, it shifts that particular section over to the larger side. Doesn't matter what secondary app you are using, as long as it's highlighted, it will shift to the larger side....

I did not!! I'm leaving on a road trip today, and will have to try it.

I do wonder about what other little tricks are out there, since the manual that comes with these MMI boxes are mostly about installing them, and not how to actually use them.

Hi!

I just installed Carplay on my 2016 f48 this week

All is working like a charm except by one or two problems

I have an Android Mobile Phone (POCO X3 PRO with 12.5 miui and android 11) with wireless connection and conected to the car via bluetooth (car an carplay) and wifi (carplay wifi). I don´t know if it´s correct or I have to disconnect any of these... I understand that it´s the valid way

My carplay model and version is on attached file

Problems:
-Waze not working. It stopped and I have it out of battery miui and android exceptions, but not working at all. Google Maps works perfectly but I´d like to have two options by the way.

-Google Assistant not working all times. Sometimes says that it was an error, try again, and it works again.

-Sound. Radio is via car and I skip between MODE buttom to hear radio or AUX (Carplay/Android Auto) but it´s loud on AA and high on radio despite of I have configured out volume on carplay

-How is best configuration for loudness on carplay settings?

Any solutions to these "problems"?
