so i am a dope and missed the whole commentary about flashing in succession with software. I have an andream MMI NBT (v2) - was on 1.1.5 and went straight to latest. The update failed with a "failed burn" message.

Now the thing is stuck in a screen that shows a big "Car Play" logo.

Trying my damnest to recover but failing. am i SOL ?

btw, my version is similar to the one posted on the previous page::::

Also noticing that it doesn't seem to attempt to read from USB when I do resets. I'll check again when i get home from dinner but i didn't see my usb stick activity light flicker

ewaygps saves the day! They sent me a new ISPBOOOT.bin file that got me back up and running. Here are a few things to note:

for these "yx" boxes - EW-LBMCP-NBT02B
Working DIP for 8.8 screen - 00000010
Force flash DIP - 00000100

To recover from a bad flash, set pin 6 ON, restart the MMI, and you will see the usb start to load the bin file. Once the usb activity stops, flip 6 off, and 7 on, hold back, and wait for mmi to reset.

Installed the unit today and my sound comes only out of the passenger side speakers. Using a Note 20 Ultra, anyone knows what the issue might be?

So one thing im running into with the EW-LBMCP-NBT02B I referenced above ... rotary knob works fine, but up and down dont work. pushing left and right messes with the spotify track. Really makes it painful to use.

No options in the settings to change either

Hi guys, I just bought an F20 made in May 2015. I'm trying to decide if I go with one of these boxes or not, all I would use it for would be wired android auto for waze/google maps and charging the phone. It would be a fancy and expensive alternative to a vent phone holder but I really hate those and love the car, so I would be willing to try an MMI.

So a couple of questions: how stable are these devices if you are not looking into advanced functions or wireless capabilities?

Taking those panels from the dash off... don't you end up with rattling from them after that?

And finally, can you tell me what this original screen is? Is it 6.5 without the plastic front or can it display more?

I think you should check your quadlock.
Did you have to run a wire to your aux port? Otherwise check that wire. Also check the connections to the MMI box.

I did not need to run the aux wire in my case. They are sending me another power cable, hoping that this was the issue, otherwise I checked everything multiple times.

For me it's very stable, even wireless. The usb power from the box is very low, sometimes when I had it connected wired, my phone would even decharge since AA uses quite some battery. Now I use it wireless and I charge it with a 12v charger. I only lose connection at two spots, but there's radio towers along the road. I just cover my phone with my hand, while driving past and it will keep the connection somehow.

If you gently remove everything and install it properly, there won't be any rattles.

Not sure, but I hink you have the 6.5" indeed.

Anyone have any issues (not sure if its an Android Auto thing or something else) where DTMF tones dont get emitted by the dialer when you get a call?

I.e., say you get a call from a zoom meeting, and it says "press 1 to join" .... when I pull up the dialer in AA, i press 1, nothing happens.

I'm sure someone has asked about this but I can't read through 500 pages of posts.

The only thing that is bugging me is whenever you manually back out of the OEM backup camera screen or manually enable them disable parking sensors you'll lose the ability to switch to the mmi box output until you turn the car off and on again. Is there. Fix for this?

You try to reconnect the power cord, unplug it and plug it in again, or have you connected the AUX cable？ Replace the AUX cable, if it still doesn’t work, you need to contact the seller.

just summarizing some of the issues that im capturing as part of the hardware revision that I got through ewaygps:

EW-LBMCP-NBT02B
- While on a call, pressing a dialer button for DTMF (i.e. when a phone call says "press 1 to join") does not do anything.
- iDrive rotary wheel works fine, but left/right changes tracks, and up/down does nothing. Makes it near impossible to move between tiles in the new AA experience
- Phone calls using AA, the person I am talking to hears themselves echo. I tried a few things here like turning the mic audio setting all the way down through the andream, and also tried disabling the mic on my phone via AA permissions. No help there.

It is still on firmware 1.15 compared to the other ones ... not sure if its compatible with any of the other firmwares out there. I had to use an ISPBOOOT.bin file to recover when i borked an upgrade.

Ho everyone, having a couple of issues hoping someone can help.

I’m currently running nbt and issues are:

1)I can’t get back to settings menu of mmi unless I disconnect my phone and restart the mmi

2)long press of menu takes me to idrive but will not stay in idrive, within ten-twenty seconds the CarPlay screen pops back up

3)iPhone mirroring won’t utilize full screen, shows black bars on both sides.

4) can anyone tell me what mcu and software I can update too and if necessary

By the look of the 'CUST Version' it may be an old version the Roadtop B software from the first page of this thread.

You could try updating the MCU and software from there, at your own risk of course.

If the updates are GEMINI_PACK.BIN you should do them incrementally to be safe (still going from the information on the first page).

Otherwise if they have the ISPBOOOT.BIN file, then that should be safe to update directly to.

If it were me, I'd try an older update first, then go from there.

I am considering one MMI box for my 2020 bmw x2 in order to enable CarPlay.
I have a basic question. Apparently audio goes through Aux line.

So I guess that Aux line has to be chosen permanently in BMW media selection. Is this ok?

Could this be a problem? Calls are through MMI or car bluetooth?

My concern is if we have to manually change between sources or on the contrary we can just leave Aux selection forever...

My experience...
If you want to use your phone for audio, leave the car set to AUX, you can switch audio source at any time. I sometimes use the google map with audio from USB or CD etc.

Anyone with a recent purchase, specifically using AA: if you click right on the idrive controller does it move the selection inside Google maps for example? Mine does not, instead it will skip the current song. Is there another way to make a selection that I can't figure out?

Snap. I am having the same issue which has developed in the last month or so. I dont get it, everything was working fine, the mmi box has not been updated. I am however on Android (Pixel 7). I was suspecting it was an update on my phone but now that you have got it, I am begining to wonder. You can check my post on the matter. The only way I can get it to connect automatically is to restart my phone, huge pain. Is there a way of setting the mmi box back to factory or carry out a factory reset, does anyone know ? Please let me know if you resolve.....thanks
