Edit: MCU update did not work. IT told me the file was named wrong (Wanted CMCU.bin but the file was CMCU_G.bin). I renamed the file to CMCU.bin and it said it was invalid.

With MCU Update i have this problem too.

The MMI unit was messing something, known problem with older MCU versions. I had to disconnect the MMI in order to the diagnostics tools works properly. When the MMI was connected they were able to connect to the car but the diagnostic freezes, takes ages and their program I beleive it was ISTA couldn't read the faulty codes. The coding was also not available.

Now I've got the newest MCU and software wersion on my Road Top unit.
Sound via BT worked but the quality was poor and I reconnected the AUX, I was tired of looking for solution. I am happy with the quality over AUX and also inbuild in MMI equalizer is working only via AUX.
Now diagnostics apps etc. are working correctly (bimmer tool, bimmer code, xHP) so I think it should be ok at shop now also.

I had some issues after update of the firmware using the ISPBOOOT.BIN file, the unit was rebooting after every few minutes. I updated once again using newest software file GEMINI_PACK.BIN instead. It worked and solved issues.

Conclusion:
BT quality is overrated
There is no new funcionallity in newer software and MCU, if you are not having issues there is really no point for updating, you can mess more than pottentialy gain in Road Top B2 unit.

MCU updates will have more compatibility issues. Once problems occur, it will be very troublesome. We do not recommend updating MCU software.

I've recently bought the Andream MMI. I would like to access microphone echo settings, but my MMI now has only mic volume setting. And when I want to call someone I can't scroll my contact list, because the iDrive knob up and down switch doesn't work. And when I press my iDrive knob to the left or right it automatically skips song that is currently being played, despite the fact that Spotify isn't even displayed on the screen.
Is there a way to update this MMI and fix these issues?

OK, I know some had issues with connecting with the head unit as do I, but hadn't seen any other issues.

I've used an Andream unit (CIC) for 3 years, minor niggles but works well. Any camera "should" work, I bought one online and works like a charm.

That's the advantage of using an MMI box, it WILL look OEM, the box is inside the dash. Plus you can switch to the BMW nav at any time.
For around $300 it's one of the best mods I've done.

Which box is the better? No idea, I've only tried one.

I just revied the latest Andream unit, w/HDMI, this week and am going to install.

2015 F82 M4.

A few questions as this unit comes with no instructions or guides to pull up.

- Newer version of hardware and software is rumored to not need to plug into AUX to work any longer, uses native Bluetooth, as well as no longer needs to be wired into the factory MIC location. Is this true? Making it very plug and play.

- Where are the updates for these units published/downloaded from? Everyone talks about new software updates as this platform actually receives updates, which is one of the reasons I chose this unit, and this 600 page thread.


I also have a "Ninetom" MMI carplay box I installed a year ago for my e92 that would probably benefit from a software upgrade as well. It works great but it hangs if you turn off the car and then get back in the car within 5-10 minutes. It loses connection with the iDrive controller and it seems to hang for 10-20 minutes before it checks itself and regains control.

I recently installed a newer Andream on my NBT Evo ID4. It is able to work through Bluetooth instead of aux. It integrates very well this way for music, calls, Siri, and nav directions. My steering wheel scroll wheel changes tracks on Spotify like OEM.
I also have factory cameras, that switch over perfectly like they should. There were numerous extra wires in the harness for camera and mic connections, that I didn’t need and did not want to cram behind everything - so I removed them from the harness before installation.

Hello. I just installed my Andream EVO in my Mini Cooper Countryman, 2023 for Android Auto. It kinda works? Feels something isn't configured right. I didn't get much in terms of instructions. I can't seem to launch android auto manually. It'll connect but if I go back to settings I can't reconnect to it without a reboot. Audio isn't working right. Is there an update available?
