You either pull file from Car Head Unit or from BMW Server, but the latter requires dealer access.

Hi There Guys,

I though that I was being clever and used SWID_FscShort="0028002F" in lookup.xml to generate a FSC code for CIC Premium Western Europe 2018-2 and the generated code does not work!

Could someone (ie Shawn) maybe please give me the correct short code to use?

Pull DE File from NBT, feed DE File to FSC Gen using parameters 0xA9 0x32.

appreciate your help so far. got my dads car to update his maps and he has ROAD MAP EUROPE PREMIUM 2010. I see that there are currently 2018-1 version, however split is West and East. Do I update it to both versions (West and East) or just one?

You can only load one or the other. U.K. is West.

Hi guys, I read in the previous page that the FSC code to update Route Map on HU_EntryNav must be bought from dealer because ASAP access is needed. Something changed or this is the only way to get an activation code for this map? Thank you.

There is no public FSC Generator for ROUTE Map Update, so you cannot do it yourself. But you do not need to pay Dealer. PM sent.

Just wanted to thank all those who posted instructions & what worked for them

Most difficult part for me was getting the VIN to show up in E-Sys. Below are the order of steps I think worked for me.

Prerequisite: disable all firewalls, Antivirus & WiFi. Set Ethernet to DHCP (not static)
1. Connect ENET cable to OBD port
2. Connect ENET to laptop Ethernet port
3. Start vehicle (DO NOT step on the brakes, engine does not have to be on)
4. Wait until Ethernet has yellow exclamation ! Open command prompt & type ipconfig
5. Ensure you have 169.254.xxx.xxx IP address for Ethernet
6. Launch E-Sys Launcher (NOT E-Sys)
7. Select Connect

8. Select appropriate Target (based on I-Level)

Note: Don’t use _DIRECT

9. Select Connection via VIN
10. Select Connect
11. Click Expert Mode
12. Select FSC Extended

13. Diagnostic Address (hex) = 0x63
14. Click Identify

15. Application Number (hex/dec) – 0xDE
16. Upgrade Index (hex/dec) – 0x1

17. Scroll down & select StoreFSC
18. Select Add to the batch button (>>)

19. Select Read
20. Select Save
21. Use the following naming format when saving FSC file. XXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc
Note: XXXXXXX is the last 7 of your VIN

1. Copy NBT.EXE + XXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc to C:\EC-APPS folder
2. Open command prompt & go to C:\EC-APPS folder
Type: NBT XXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc 0xa8 0x32 XXXXXXX > code.txt

Ex: C:\EC-APPS> NBT XXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc 0xa8 0x32 XXXXXXX > code.txt

This will create a file called code.txt with the map FSC code inside

I used the FSC file as is, did not have to use BASE64 or decode the file.

Out of laziness, decided to use a batch file that I used to generate FSC for my CIC

Ex: batch file. Note: replace XXXXXXX w/ the last 7 of your VIN
ECHO OFF
CLS
IF NOT EXIST NBT.exe ECHO File NBT.exe NOT FOUND!
IF NOT EXIST XXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc ECHO XXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc does NOT EXIST!
c:\EC-APPS\NBT XXXXXXX_000DE001.fsc 0xa8 0x32 XXXXXXX > code.txt
IF %ERRORLEVEL% EQU 0 ECHO File code.txt was created successfully!
PAUSE

Place & run batch file in C:\EC-Apps where NBT.exe & your FSC file is located.

NBT.exe I have is dated 7/1/2015 (77KB). Seems to be newer than what I found in the ZIP files posted by others.
