I'm having a real hard time finding the correct answer to this.. I've started a few threads in the lighting and modification forum too but had zero replies.

I want to upgrade my pre-lci F32 from xenons to LCI Adaptive LED headlights (the icon ones). I appreciate the wiring and coding will need to be completed, however I am being lead to believe I won't need to do the kafas2 retrofit?

Currently my car only has the FLA camera and the HBA button on the stalk, will this really work without the kafas setup? I read that the reason FLA can't show speed limits is because of the quality and that kafas is a much higher quality camera which can read it, that then worries me that the adaptive lighting and tunnelling will be compromised by sticking with the FLA camera.

It's my understanding that FLA supports high beam assistance and I believe adaptive headlights.

As a side note I would recommend pre-lci adaptive LEDs as with those you can enable non glare high beams (NGHB) with coding. The LCI adaptive LEDs (at least in the US) do not fully support NGHB. Euro LCI adaptive LEDs in the other hand, can be coded for NGHB.

Yeah I'll be grabbing some euro adaptive's as I'm in the UK, just wish I had pulled the trigger much sooner as most sellers are either in Poland or Spain so international shipping is kinda hard right now, damn Corona Virus.

A bit of thread resurrection, but did you manage to retrofit adaptive leds with the FLA camera? I'm planning on doing the same and just as you mentioned, I couldn't really find a definitive answer regarding adaptive headlights and FLA camera compatibility.

My 2017 F32 with LED headlights from the factory has FLA (no KAFAS) and is able to do NGHB.

That's good to know. I already have the FLA camera so it would be less work for an NGHB retrofit. Thanks!

Is your f30 lci?
Did you succeeded to retrofit ADAPTIVE LEDS and NGHB works with just FLA?

Yes it's a MY2015 LCI. Haven't done the retrofit yet, can't really justify spending $1000+ on it now. Hopefully I'll find a pair that's in good shape and at a better price.

i can add that Adaptive Xenon, NGHB and adaptive light distribution works with an simple FLA camera in F25 LCI. If Xenons work, LEDs should also work i guess

Yeah I fitted LED icons eventually in the end, light distribution is noticeable but I still get people flashing me so I don't think it's 100% perfect

Did you also change ZK?
Which ECUs have you coded?
