5A1 FA coding question.
Hi, I retrofitted the oem led fog lights and wanted to code them properly.
I deleted code 520(which is fog lights) and added 5A1(led fog lights), wrote the new FA to car and coded FEM_body. Everything happened without error. After that I checked the FDL file from FEM_body to see the right values and to share them here. But the settings were pwm_level_1 - 13.4v pwm_level_fixed - pwm nsw_is_led - not active only cold and warm checks were disabled. Also the output for fog light was set to off and they didn't work until I corrected. Now I wonder if 520 and 5A1 should be both left in FA, since when 520 is missing the car thought it had no fog lights installed and disabled them. The other variant is that my Istep is old and the car doesn't recognise 5A1(but then wouldn't there be error writing the new FA?) Can someone with factory led fogs share or check if his FA has both 520 and 5A1, or if you can help with some advice? In esys I get: istep last - 12-07-533 istep current - 15-11-501 Last edited by expl0de; 08-03-2018 at 02:28 PM.. |

My LCI with factory led fog lights has only 5A1 in VO/FA.
I think your i-step is too old. The led fog lights were introduced in 07/2015. But you're right, there should be an error. |

Thank you. I'll try to change the "zeitkriterium" to 0715 and then retry coding.
It is currently 1111, which is way back in time. Any other thoughts are welcome. P.S. With the new zeitkriterium - 0715 and added 5A1 in VO (520 was removed), the coding of FEM was successful. Last edited by expl0de; 08-13-2018 at 08:06 AM.. |

Nevermind. I was thinking a bit slow. Date changed to 07/15 and that sorted the issue. I need to finish going through the comparison of the FDL files to figure out what all truly changes, but I dont think there were any real surprises.

I have the same problem as expl0de. I coded the VO 520 to 5A1 led fog lights and changed the "zeitkriterium" to 0715 (I had 1111) and now I have errors D90D28 and 804113. How to change the "zeitkriterium" back to 1111 there were no more problems? LEDs are on? Should it be coded 5A1 -> 520 + FDL coding right away?
