Is anyone familiar with "sunroof close when rain is detected"?

I found this feature yesterday and went to code it in last night, but I don't have "Regen_schliessen" under HU_NBT. Is there a date cutoff for this feature, or should I be looking somewhere else?

Thats the only place i know it should be. have checked with 2017 model and seen the option. Whats your model year? Which device are you using to code?

This feature was useless on my e90. When it shut automatically you couldn't open it until you turn the car off and on again

Mine is a 2013 and I'm using Bimmercode. Maybe I need to use e-sys.

I'm fine with that. Generally if my sunroof closes due to rain I won't be opening it back up again anyway.

How about if it closes due to car in front of you spraying water on the windshield?

I can't tell you a single time in all my years of driving when the car in front sprayed me with enough water to activate the rain sensor unless it was, in fact, raining.

Definitely an outliner!!
Or you leave space for a truck in-between 😁
Or your sensor's sensitivity is not right.

Now you guys have me curious! How often are you driving down the road and the driver in front hits a pond that seemingly came out of nowhere? It's literally never happened to me! Why is there water in the road unless it followed a rain shower?

You misunderstood!

Windshield-cleaning fluid! People wipe their windshields and spray water. That water often sprays on the car behind as well.

No rain needed.

on my GTI this feature would close the sunroof if it rained while parked, not driving.
