Advice on whether these wheels would fit?

Hi guys

Looking for a set of winter wheels for the M40.

I have identified the following where’s which the seller is saying will fit. But as this isnt really my most knowledgable area, was looking for some views.

Link to sellers eBay details (anybody used them?) and full wheel spec:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Alloy-Whe...-/312072400349

In terms of my knowledge. Car coming with 699M wheels.

Offset seems to be ET27 - offset of the ones I am looking at are ET35 - is this an issue? I do not want to be adding spacers.

The pitch centre diameter is the same at 5 / 112

Rim width on 699M is 8J front and 9.5J rear. These ones are 8J all round. So not a problem hopefully!

I will need to add TPMS sensors as well. But wanted to see if the wheels would fit!

For information, I am looking at 20 inch wheels as there are far more tyre options and I can put on the Vredstein Wintrac Exteme’s which have not let me down for years!

Thanks in advance.

Re offset - the higher the number, the more the wheel disappears into the arches and the lower the number, the more they 'poke' outwards.

So the ones you are looking, the outer face of the wheel will sit 8mm further in - spacers may be required to avoid the car looking a bit pinched at the wheels.

This. Zero rush now, wait about 8 months to avoid storing anything.

I was in Costco today checking flout their tyres. Looks to me they don't go beyond 19 inch in general and certainly not on the Michelin winter tyres. I do think I will consider a set and some cheap wheels for the new steed.

Thanks. Thought I might get money off the tyres at the end of the season. But think I will just wait now.

The minimum size the car can take is 19”. The wheels available to fit are an unusual tyre size at 245/50/19 - most, if not all, of the winter tyres seem to be run flats (which i dont want). Wondering if it a specific BMW size?

Anyway, hoping that Mrwinterwheels bring something suitable out in due course!

Thumbs up Slingshot258

My first Post
I have an F30 330d xdrive on 403M 19” wheels 255 rear 235 front. I need to get some snow wheels and tyres for next winter, what is there best way to save money here. Should I go down to 16,17 or 18” wheels. I am pretty confused by the conversations I’ve read so far, presumably the wheels will need to fit around the blue sports break calipers, will the tyre senor work with such wheels
Thanks

Welcome to the forum - loads of good advice on here!

Looking at today's weather with me - could do with winter tyres today.

You have 2 options.

Option 1 - change the tyres on your car - saves cost of new wheels and TPMS. But higher risk of damaging wheels and tyres with half yearly change. I can recommend the Vredstein Wintrac Extreme S tyres for the 330d drive. They all work well together.

Option 2 - buy wheels and winter tyres. With the blue callipers, the lowest I would go is 18 inch. There are quite a few sets for sale on eBay. Or, if you want brand new and guarantee for fit, I would recommend Mrwinterwheels.co.uk. A full set of wheels + winter tyres + TPMS sensors will cost about £1.2k. I have used them before and recommend them.

Let me know if you require any more information.

That is excellent and very useful information, now I know where to look around the middle of the year for a set of winters, and at that sort of price for new wheels and new tyres with Tpms sensors it maybe better than buying a used set

Well, possibly Option 3 is, get another car and use the M40 in the summer?
