F31 Boot opening intermittent- easy fix?

All,

I've recently purchased a 2015 F31 330D xdrive (and love it)

The boot operated and opened fine from the key fob but the last couple of days it's not opening. It's unlocking but not rising. If I manual push the boot closed so that it locks again then repress the button it opens ok?

Is there any adjustment or something that I could do to remedy?

Any help greatly appreciated.

It's probably similar to the other F3x models, where you can adjust tension on the spring.

If you look at the lid's bottom when open, there's a close button. There's a "lock" button next to it.

Press once, try again.

If not, sedans have a glovebox switch, might have it too... Just checked, blank panel in the glove box.

Did you check the lower catch for any debris?

Browse through there...
There is a chance you have an approaching failure for one of your spindle drives or lower catch.

Cleaned the catch out (it wasn't really dirty), sprayed with WD but it operates fine. Still no joy. Maybe an alignment issue?
I'm booked in with a BMW specialist on Friday but if I could fix it before then it would save me the trip, and cash!!!

Thanks for the advise/help

My guess is that it probably needs to be initialized, or the motor/strut is weak and may need to be replaced.
