Here is my girl just picked up two days ago. 2018 440i s drive msport track handling package, 19 inch orbit Grey wheels, premium packages and essentials. So far I'm really digging her. Can't wait for the break in period to come.

Hey beto_L.A. - Thanks for posting, any chance of some interior shots of the Night Blue Dakota?
Just ordered 440i xD GC M SRB & Night Blue w/Burl Walnut (yeah, know alum or carbon looks great but suspect wood a bit more dog resistant); on the fence for black grilles but they do look nice esp. w/Tanzanite or darker shades. Enjoy |

Thanks much beto_L.A.!!! Looks great.
My current 2011 328i wagon is Deep Sea Blue Metallic w/Beige Dakota: attractive combo IMO, but wanted lighter exterior and darker interior (bit more potential dog and bicycle grease friendly). Based on the pic's you've so kindly shared really looking forward to the SRB/NBD combo. Just got VIN# from CA a few hours ago and call to Genius confirmed production started today but completion not expected until Jan 15 due to holiday shutdown. So ballparking from forum posts probably looking at early/mid-March stateside delivery and with Spartanburg just 6 hours away going for PCD pick-up. Should be fun. Happy holidays to you! Hi all, new to the forum and Beemer ownership. Picked up my SRB 440i GC last week, went straight for a new car exterior and interior detail. Loving the car so far! Here it is a few days after initial delivery and detail:

Hey Juggsy - looks great; happy motoring in 2018!
Cultural Curiosity: anyone have any idea why UK (and most other EU markets?) have the small side exterior M badges just above wheel vents for 4 series M Sport Pkg, while US (and other Americas?) do not? If anything, I might have expected it to be flip-flopped as my understanding as to why some Europeans choose not to include model badge on back as to to be less "ostentatious"/more discreet, as opposed to more "conspicuous consuming" Americans more likely to show-off?* Personally doesn't matter to me one way or another but seems like a kind of odd detail to vary by market? Cost savings? Possible local trademark use implications? * please excuse a bit of cultural stereotyping -- no offense intended! |

Kidding I don't know why actually, probably as a differentiator? You're effectively paying for the M Sport package so you want people to know? Adds an extra dimension to the look? Probably a few reasons why people decide to keep them. For me, it's how the car came so decided to keep it as the manufacturer designed. If it was optional to 'add' the badges rather than remove, would I add them? Probably... |

None taken mate. As far as I know all members here remove badges soon as they get cars, I have been member for nearly a year and that's all I seen people removing badges from side and from the back You do have certain individuals who like to keep badges . I just took delivery of my G30 on Friday morning , first thing remove all badges Happy New Year and safe modding and motoring |

Must admit I didn't realise it was the done thing to remove the badges! Coming from a line of VW group cars the badges tend to be integral to the car, I guess the M badges are easier to remove and give a cleaner look?

I'm pretty sure in recent past US ordered ED cars did have the option to not have model designators on car trunk but vaguely recall seeing a post a couple of years ago that this is no longer the case(?) But I was asking just out of curiosity, Matt, really no intention to make you feel self-conscious but having the side 'M''s on the car! But if your name began with the letter 'L' would you have then gone with the Luxury package? Have a great new year all |

Okay - decided to actually search the web on this and discovered I should have been using the term "Debadging" -- which of course does have a Wiki page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debadging As well as a bit more opinionated rational from a US blogger: https://jalopnik.com/why-do-european...-ca-1780331763 Which still doesn't explain why BMW would be sticking some extra badges for UK/EU not on US counterparts? Maybe I'll ask a Genius to reach out to Munich... |
