I had couple VW as well and badges were removed only stuck ones though not round big VW ones , same as BMW round badges stay on and stuck ones in the bin

I think car looks better without badges but each to their own taste I think .
I was referring to badges like this, however on closer inspection they do seem easily removable and not as 'built in' as I first thought

For sure, I'm still in the honeymoon phase with my new car so don't worry not feeling self conscious at all! Just enjoying finding out what the car can do and how I can potentially mod it in the future, so thoughts much appreciated.

Just ordered 440i xD GC M SRB & Night Blue w/Burl Walnut (yeah, know alum or carbon looks great but suspect wood a bit more dog resistant); on the fence for black grilles but they do look nice esp. w/Tanzanite or darker shades.

Enjoy

Yeah, proper winter this year. -25c outside.
Nokia Hakkapeliitta 8 studded tires. These are quite noisy at pavement, but 4wd and studded tires are needed where I live.

Perfect tires for the weather and geography. -25C is almost surreal.

Few shots after detailing of my new 2018 GC in carbon black on midnight leather.

Loving her so far! The Opti Gloss ceramic coating is a revelation for me. Highly recommended

Not just yet, but moved up PCD 10 days so next week.

In the meantime plodding around in a Kia Soul rental -- there is no emoji that even begins to describe that experience. Doubt much interest in pics of that for sure.

Ordered Dec 16. PCD yesterday. Not the best car shots but location in front of the Zentrum is kinda cool. Unfortunately museum is closed, as are "public" factory tours, but as others have reported the current head of the plant has permitted factory tours for PCD'ers. Very impressive watching X3's & X4's coming to life along the line.

440xi GC M Sport Snapper Rocks Blue w/Night Blue Dakota; yeah, I know "real drivers" don't get xD w/18" wheels, All Season RF ... but all were very welcome as I drove back home through snowy Smoky Mountains on potholed roads. Will switch out the All Season for true winter set and get a 2nd set summer wheels for most Nashville seasons.

Also discovered that after playing ice hockey as a kid and bicycle racing as a (younger) adult no longer have the "need for speed" (or stomach) for track racing. No M cars in my future so this will suffice. Still, PCD was lots of fun. And do check out the CCA museum nearby which is staging an exhibit of 50 years of BMW 2002's we got to preview.

Thanks to all whose posts provided much appreciated guidance during ordering and tracking!

Great choice!!! You will find yourself explaining to people why the color is called SNAPPER ROCKS BLUE!! i still haven't seen one SRB F3x in L.A. so I get lots of compliments. Did you get the digital display? Load up one interior pictures when you get a chance.
Congrats and enjoy!!!

Yep, got the 6WB display. Will get some pics. Very pleased with the Night Blue Dakota -- your interior pics were very helpful on that choice. Apparently not all that common as the Genius who assisted us at the Performance Center (Rachel, who was great) had not seemed to encounter that interior before.

And yes, the SRB color made waves with CCA Foundation Museum staff when parked outside, which was kind of ironic given that they had about 20 or so beautiful amazing early 2002's inside. They were very kind to let my wife and I check them out even though not really on display yet. In fact the whole area was in the dark as a photographer was documenting each car individually. If you do pay a visit to Spartanburg be sure to check out that museum as it is a bit off the beaten path.

My New 440i GC

Got my 2108 LCI 440i GC two weeks ago, and just love it! Thought I’d share my experience in several areas:

Ordering experience - Ordered Dec. 31, 2017, delivered February 22, 2018. Dealer support and tracking info were great. Obsessed over the delivery, watching the ship cross the ocean every day, but the anticipation was great fun (despite the ribbing from my wife)!

Colors – Snapper Rocks Blue with white interior. I love light colors and find them more energizing, and the SNB is just stunning! Of course, the light leather will require some attention to keeping it clean, but it can be done. I’d say the dealer sales people were rolling their eyes a bit at the order, given they order their stock almost exclusively dark, but it sat in the showroom two days after delivery because we were out of town, and apparently customers were gaga over it! Driving it for a week now, it is amazing the number of compliments you get on the overall looks of the car and the SNB.

Wheels – I chose the 18” 400M rims because they ride a bit smoother than the 19”, and IMO the popular 704M wheels look a bit too edgy, while the form of the 400Ms is more compatible with the GC shape and lines. And, IMO, the thinner profile of the 19” tires look pimp car to me. The Birdgestone Potenzas (had them before) handle very precise, but frankly I look forward to wearing them out and replacing with Michelin PSSs, which are overall outstanding – quieter, much better on wet surfaces, great handling.

Driving experience – It is blazingly fast. Electric steering is taking time to get used to. As a driver’s car, I’d say you need to put it in Sport (chassis) mode all the time. Still, coming off a 2011 335i, I do miss the hydraulic steering….

LED headlights – wow – I was really worried about these as I loved the steering HIDs on my 335i and there have been some disparaging comparisons in the forums. But man, the adaptive LEDs are fantastic! They are brighter than the HIDs, well restricted in regarding oncoming traffic, and well balanced in color – nice and white, not blue. And the high beams just make you want to seek out some deserted winding country roads!

Compared to my previous E90 335i – love the hatch back; love the LED headlights

A few niggling complaints – Steering wheel controls left/right backwards – audio volume should be on the left for fingertip control; smaller visor mirrors; no synced left right temperature control; no audio Aux input; HK audio inferior to 2011 335i: poorer bass extension. Oh well, a company run by the accountants!

Otherwise, a fantastic new ride, just love it!

Hey - also just went from 2011 3 Series (328 wagon) to 2018 440xi GC and have much the same observations:

Also went with the 18" but more so for potholes; ended up with the Pirelli All Season P7 but still undecided how I feel vs. the Continentals have had in past. Still getting used to the steering but kind of liking the much greater ease and confidence swinging around 90 degree plus turns. Surprised by temp sync going away but my wife always wants to set her own temp anyway.

Actually think HK sound quality might be a bit better in 2018 vs. 2011 HK and I'm admittedly a music/audiophile snob. Difference may be that I'm running an old iPod Classic 160GB with ALAC 44.1/16 (not MP3 compressed) files directly via the old Apple 30 pin (?) connect into the USB whereas I think the old set up was taking audio from the headphone out. Not sure what kind of DAC is in the system but would be surprised if it's inferior to the 2011. However I'm more of a jazz/blues/folk/Americana/etc. fan and not really playing more boomy bass driven music.

Agree that Adaptive LED's are great and improvement over my older adaptive HID's, but have discovered that the auto High Beam does not necessarily work on rolling roads so still need to be vigilant for approaching traffic.

My biggest adjustment has been getting used to the electronic shifting. Sorry but I'm still getting confused by pushing forward to go backward and pulling backward to go forward -- am I the only one who finds this counterintuitive?

But do I spot small "M"'s above your side vents? Thought those were only on Euro 440 M Sports? Maybe it's because you have the newer MY 2108 (sic)...!!!!

Enjoy the new ride, it looks great.

Okay, my photos are not the greatest but here's some interior shots of SRB 440xi GC with the Night Blue Dakota & Burl Walnut Wood. Too many dogs and bicycles to consider lighter leather or aluminum trim. Also have the 6WB Digital Instrument so a view dash photos as well.

You'll notice the major upgrade I've made is the M Performance mats -- which is about the only M Performance modification that is technically feasible for me to execute on my own! (No, not an M Performance wannabe but thought these are good compromise between the black velour showing all the schmutz and going all rubber but Coco-mats might have also worked.)

Montpier, great looking car, congrats and enjoy!

I'm a bit of an audiophile as well, and actually don't like boomy bass. I tend to like flat response, and the difference I noted from my 2011 E90 335i is in low end extension. The E90 HK was (is, I actually still have it...) not so much more bass, but flatter and cleaner, and extended into nearly subsonic. The new HK sound more limited and the lowest bass sounds more like thumping on a cardboard box than smooth transition into kind of bass you feel as much as hear. I'm wondering if it is the sub woofer drivers or a difference in the cavity into which they work as the effective "cabinet" if you will. I'm going to find out by interchanging my old drivers with the new ones - a bit crazy, but I want to know if this can be helped.

The M Performance mats look great! They are nice! BTW, one other M Performance mod that's easy to do and so cool is the lighted door sills.

I can't get over how the dealers around me don't order any SRB 4 series for stock. In the couple of weeks I have been driving it, I have been approached numerous times in parking lots, asked at lights to roll down the window, etc., and every time it is, "Hey, that's a great looking car/color", "Can you get that from the factory or did you paint it yourself?", etc. That's never happened to me before in any car!

Slowly getting used to the electric steering. Have it in chassis sport mode all the time - just a bit tighter feeling. This machine is awesome!
