The text of the BMW online literature implies that there are no hydraulic components to the electric steering, so your wish has probably been fulfilled.

I donīt know how exactly electromechanical steering systems work, but at least I hope I donīt have to go around every year and a half checking the damn hydraulic fluid container and / or the respective hoses checking for them being "calcified" by the heat, or developing leaks due also to heat damaging the seals...things which I think every BMW owner has experienced at one time in life. If this system is as well developed as germans do their stuff while eliminating the need for pesky liquids, I will be happy with one of these...
I think its something like 5% of 3s are sold with MT and I bet there arent many more that really are concerned with the steering feel/feedback. Mostly housewives that drive them around here.

0-60 in 5.4s for 8 speed auto - motortrend
0-60 in 5.9s for 8 speed auto - automobile
both had 328i sportline
I just checked BMW website... they list 0-60mph at 5.7s for 328 and 5.4s for 335. I think they are low balling these numbers but its hard to say by how much.

What do you mean by low balling? BMW has traditionally been conservative with these numbers compared to automotive enthusiast magazine reviews. The 335 in particular is conservative as the e90 has consistently done 0-60 in under 5 seconds in these tests.

I'm guessing real world tests will show the 328 at about 5.6 seconds and the 335 at 4.8 seconds.

I know BMW gives conservative numbers every time... but I think the figures I listed before are figure before mags or tv show have the cars to do 0-60 testing so they just give the same official BMW numbers yet a lot of them do not release the same numbers and btw this thread is oooooooold

You mean massive body roll, a steering system that is not connected to the front wheels, and the engine note played through the speaker system?!?!?!?!
