The main spire has gone.

I wonder if there is something dodgier than a simple accident going on here

Looks like work men may have caused it? Reminds me of Windsor Castle that was really intense also.

Someone about to be less popular than Macron.

It is a real shame.

Wonder if he'd get a job on the team doing the Palace of Westminster in a few years time?

You sometimes think, how on earth can this happen in this day and age, but then I read this... "Fire safety teams constantly patrol the neo-gothic Palace of Westminster, which caught fire 40 times between 2008 and 2012 alone; the small fires were quickly put out by wardens.".

Given the bravery of those firefighters they deserve a lump sum and a load of back pay.

It is a terrible shame to think that the roof was built in the 1250ís yet burns down in our era!
However, I did read somewhere that the fan ceiling is largely intact therefore the burning roof did not all fall to the floor.
If true, really fantastic!
But never fear as France will not be paying all of the cost of rebuild because Macron will be get the EU to pay, as it is a European Heritage site.

Letís hope the U.K. is out of the EU before itís time to cough up!
Although am sure the French paid indirectly for some of our Heritage fires and the U.K. have had a few.
Of course they did!

Same thing happened to York Minster in 1984 but in todays world of 24 news and social media this is being dragged out and blown out of proportion.
