options for bumper after boneheaded mistake

Hi folks. This morning I banged into the stone wall on my property while backing down the driveway. Not one of my proudest moments. Considering I scuffed up the bumper without make an indent (photo here), I'm now weighing my options to fix it up. Can this get sanded and repainted or is that not an option being on the plastic surface of the bumper?

It can be filled, sanded and painted. It does require a special filler, regular bondo as used on steel won't work. Any competent body shop can handle it.

The damage can be repaired and will probably cost around $1.5K.

Competent BMW certified shops will also inspect the mounting hardware behind the bumper. In some cases, it will also be replaced.

The next step will be to match the paint.

I had to have my front bumper repaired after a car backed into it. Her tow hitch made a pretty good mess of it. The cost was more then I was expecting (just under $1800) but they had to remove my bumper, repair and re paint it.
Don't be to concerned about colour match. I have been told paint will look slightly different on metal then plastic. The colour match they did was a great match. The only reason it looked different from my hood was the bumper was perfect...no marks or chips but my hood had some chips and small marks from a few years of use.
I did see a front fender with similar damage to yours get repaired without being removed from the car. They did a repair and then painted only half the fender stopping in the middle near the license plate. It was a lease and the guy wanted it repaired as cheap as possible. It turned out pretty good actually and was very cheap. I want to say under $500 if I recall.

I had a similar repair on an Alpine White front bumper a couple of months ago - $700.
