Exclamation My 0-60 Video / Mission Performance Flash / Stock 340i

couple disclaimers gentlemen (and a few ladies)
  • 3 gallons of E85 to 13 gallons of Calfornia's best 91 crap gas
  • I am really bad at shooting videos
  • I am equally bad at 0-60 in my car
  • As you'll see I used launch control
  • That was my "tecnhique".......use launch control

ps-the video on occasion seems to start at a point when the car was rolling - if that happens to you....back it up the video should start from a stop

I make that a dead 4.7 0-60 going by your speedo.
I'm sure you can get better! Had a sub 4.3 from my mppsk'd car (non x-drive) the other day but that was helped by VERY warm roads for the uk and my tyres were feeling very sticky.

I tried the next day when it was far cooler and I just smoked the rears up

agreed that was just one random impromptu pull I did on my way back from the gas station - I think I'll do it again tomorrow and make sure I capture the digital MPH gauge - that one is more accurate than the analog gauge - also the humid 80 degree weather probably doesn't help - that said I'm just posting my reality good or bad is what it is

You should film like a 60-120 mph video on a closed circuit

I have done a 60-100 in 4.8.
Pre map, just mppsk it was 5.53

Depending on weather I'll try a few runs tomorrow but I think it's meant to be raining.

Log the 100 too

I find most "close circuits" get a bit fussy with 120 runs.

There are always too many other cars on my closed circuits.

The 91/E85 maybe equate to 93, or just a straight 93 is better?

I think those numbers are for 95 RON / 91 PON
In the UK we see 99 RON which would be slightly higher than your 93 PON

Not harping, but I didn't realize the 340 b58 performance was in that range, thought it was more similar to the m240.
I am mostly trying to get a feel for what the performance increase would be on my car with data from the 3 series b58.

What are you expecting? The M2 is a lighter car and does it in 4.4 seconds.
4.7 seconds for a heavier car (with MPPSK) shiould have the same sort of power as the M240.

I have recorded a number of sub 4.5's pre remap. Its been too wet to do any proper runs to check 60 times

Stock, with runflats, about 50 degrees outside, I ran 4.6, so I would expect much closer to 4 on a mild summer day with Pilot 4 and stock everything else, ...... it isn't something I really test, ...... also I never use launch control. With the Dinan Stage1, I have no number, but I am sure it is quicker because then throttle is much more responsive, ...... I am ditching my Stage 1 Dinan this week, ...... anyway
Added in Edit ———
PS: I wouldn't compare the M2 to the 240 their engines are different (not too mention a lot of other stuff) and the 240 is quicker off the line, rated at 4.2 by BMW. I only compare the 240 to the 340 because they share the same engine

AND
PSS: only really interested in the delta between stock and the Flash

This was 100° and spinning on the street. Stage 2 MP. I ran a 8.7 stock on a prepped track.

i want to remind everyone this run was with zero effort....I went to the grocery store, I hit the soccer shop for my kids, I got gas...and on the way home decided to stop...engage launch control and shoot a short video. My point is - I don't know if, comparatively speaking, this run is good or bad - it was just my reality the other morning

moral of the story
don't take this run as the end all be all for MP 340i 0-60 runs (good or bad)

Just to add the comment about the M2 I actually meant M240i.
Either way, two very different sized cars.

No. No they don't.

5.0 for the f31 and 4.9 for the F30.
Knock .2 off for both with mppsk
