I know everyone is rightfully careful of their new expensive pride and joy but this isn't 1970 and these aren't ford anglias...Give it the full beans out the door if you fancy, just don't go autocrossing them. A bigger point is that the tyres and brakes need a couple of hundred miles to bed in before they are at max efficiency.

I'm curious to know what the dealer above thinks will happen at 101mph in the first 1000 miles (apart from a potential ban)?

Errmmmm, I think we can see his mileage in the Youtube vid.

Its quite quick to 100, about 11-12 secs. My old E90 330d was around 14 secs I think and I thought that was fast!

Yes I'd seen that too, so was curious to see how my car compared to that as standard! The rolling figure would be easier and safer one to try I think!

Just hit the 1200 mile mark too! I've been driving around in Sport+ all day, it's utterly addictive! My mpg was down at 34 though, which actually isn't too bad when I consider how I was actually driving.

What does Sport+ add over Sport?

I have sport set to adjust the "chassis" only, so that if I want the sharper throttle response, gear changes etc then I use sport plus.

So for me the whole car comes alive and encourages you to drive in a spirited way!

If you want sharper gear changes etc..... you can leave it in Sport and push the gear lever to the left. that way all the safety aids are still left on...... Unless you don't want them on of course!

I believe the only thing that changes in Sport+ is the gearbox goes to sport and the traction control is switched off to a degree - which of course is only noticed on sideways action.

Gear lever to the left gives you the gear changes, but not the throttle response! It would do if I had drivetrain and chassis selected for Sport mode, but I've left it as chassis only.

I'm happy with the DSC in more dynamic mode and used to drivng my old E90 like that all the time (otherwise the DSC light was too intrusive). With the xdrive in the wet I've still to see the light flashing, but I feel the car handling is nice and responsive to the throttle

With AWD traction, I'm not sure how much LC will help over simply flooring it. Couple of tenths?

Can you explain throttle response please compared to quicker gear changes? Sorry for the dumb question...

All wasted compared to the 29 seconds it took you to set it up!

So the gearbox can change in a couple of ways - the point at which it changes gear (at what revs), and also how quickly it changes gear.

The throttle response is how sharp the accelerator feels when you press it. So in Eco pro it feels like the carpet is jammed underneath it... comfort feels normal, like a smooth family car should be... sport mode makes it feel like a sports car unsurprisingly!

But you can customise Sport mode to change either CHASSIS or DRIVETRAIN or BOTH

I changed mine to CHASSIS only, which is the steering, dampers

so the gears and throttle are as per comfort.

Sport plus give you the sharpest of everything and then dials back the DSC system

Hope that makes sense?
